Subject: rocksann can offer her vocals, but
Written By: wildcard on 06/07/07 at 3:25 pm
My hearing has gotten severe over time. Everything I have written with the exception of a couple of requests has been a rediscovery of songs form my childhood. I am a soprano and also can sound like just about anything else I want to. I may not be able to help much with this but I thought I would offer it anyway.

Midi quality- sometimes it's hard for me to tell if it's a good one I'm using or not. I do play harmonica and have been told I do well with it. Would it be better if I played my backings for songs I record in the future? Might turn out real weird but I love weird and different.

Maybe the unusual instrumentation will work for you.
I found that Weird Al's parodies were funnier startng from the 2nd album just because he had arrangements that tried to match the OS completely.

My first recording, Everybody Must Hate Ants, was done with my harmonica. It wasn't quite the same as the os but I'm thinking overall it might sound better then some and or all of my midi recordings. Can I ask for some opinions on that? http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pageartist.cfm?bandID=651331

Hey Ann! I didn't realize you had recorded songs other than Everybody Must Hate Ants. Although my review of that recording was less than stellar (sorry about that), I listened to some of your other recordings. The MIDI to Paint It Black sounds good, and there is no mic hum. I thought the White Room midi was far above average quality. Your voice is good there, but the microphone hum is very noticeable and distracts from the experience. The mic hum in I Need To Wash Pants is painful in places - I'm not sure how, but you've managed a Slayer amount of feedback in spots. I couldn't rate the MIDI there at all due to it.
By the way, the "Live That's In Your Blood" song has only 10 seconds of recording before it stops - not sure if your upload got cut off, but I don't think that's the parody you had intended us hearing.
I know you're looking more for an opinion here on MIDI vs doing your own thing. I'd say both are good - you've found better MIDIs than I have.

Thank you Red Ant. I can re record those and try to get them fixed up.
I have nothing to hide "Live That's In Your Blood" is a parody I wrote and got 5's on.

Someone e-mailed me asking how I recorded. It is no secret I’ll tell everyone here. My laptop came with the program Sound Recorder. I plug in a microphone I steal from my brother, hit play on Windows Media Player, Hit record on Sound recorder, and go for it dude. Usually I have Word up too (hey! “Word Up” he he ). I save the wave file once I think the recording is okay. I use another program I got with my laptop called Xlilsoft the lets me encode the wave to a MP3.
Also there was an apology for not knowing I had more recordings. I don’t anyone to feel sorry about this. I haven’t done a good job informing anyone that I had done more.
Do tell me if there is microphone hum or feedback or something sounds like **** so I can fix it.

Rest from your surgery, Ann. I took a look at your parody: well writen, and, as Aggy said, very personal. Get well soon!

I feel better today. The strap around my head has been loosened and moved a little further from my eyes. I have been told that during surgery the doctor found one of the bones in my ear necessary for hearing detached. He tried to get it back on with some tissue and cartillage for now but needs to make sure the perforation is healed before doing an operation for that if he needs to.

I did another one of my already written parodies before my surgery I'm going to put up. I joined B.A.D but feel like I should wait for my ear to get better and or get something better then a 9$ mic. also or figure out how to use Anvil studios or Audacity.

The doctor says it looks good, but I will have to wait another 2 or 3 months to see if my hearing is any less severe. >:( sick of waiting fjhgjdkfkjgkdfjfk;sdjfgiljfnvks >:(
I can put my current mp3s on B. A. D, but I'm not sure I'm happy with all of them. I'm starting to feel like my account is a joke. Then again I know that I go hard on myself and also am working against my biggest disability that has come.
I'm off to the arcade so I can win a few games and feel less upset.

Not working out as well as I hoped. I picked up my harmonica and started playing stuff ( Firehouse five stuff to things like People are Strange and Touch of Grey by Greatful Dead) I don't seem to have as much of a problem with my tonal hearing as I do with speech. I ought to think about recording some tunes.

still don't want to write and my doctors appointment is in March. I cant hear any better at this time and I... I don't know the first surgery I had was at 4 years of age on one of my ears. Ear operations, brain tumor (and the radiation), stroke, eye sewn, and trying for the second time the fix the hole in my right ear. I'm getting absolutely sick of seeing doctors and sick of waiting >:( Anyway I looked through my past writings and found 15 I'd like to sing, but will still have to look for some of these midis. I was also once told that Bathroom has some microphone buzz. I can try recording that again if thats still the case.

I had joined a magic forum a little while ago and they are recording tricks on youtube. I thought about doing it too and I took a look at my possible recordings and thought it would be fun to not only sing my fast lane parody eventually, but try making a video. I might want to try and make videos to go with my recordings so far to give me something to do because I already know I'm not going to be able to record everything with my hearing like this. It might be fun to learn and I got a computer nerd type bother brother that might be willing to help me.

I posted a possible list of songs to record I've also gone crazy in the past and saved a bunch of midis. I am now going through them and seeing if I have or can easily fix them up for recording. Whatever I have I think I should go ahead and do. Other midis I end up having might motivate me to write parodies using those OS's.

My mom has decided that I shouldn't be doing anything on Amiright or here during the weekdays. She says it's a fruitless waste of time. I am still going to be around because mom cant watch me every second.
The plan is Stairway To Heaven for one of Dave's and ABC for one of Matthias's. I can write my parody by hand and type them in at night when I finish. I'll do the same with one of my Big 7 songs so I can do the same.
midis ready for me to record with from my possible list are Michelle, Comfortably numb, and Black Magic Woman. I'll probably do C Numb

I'm working on a few bus and bus travel writings. I'll probably record at least one of my songs I've found a midi for. I'm going to try to do My AB Normal Pink Floyd parody.
I've been reading about different microphones and how they work. Looks like Shure Sm 58 is the way to go. I'm not sure if my computer can handle it right now but It will need to be replaced eventually and so will the bone in my ear. I read about pop filters too and tried to make one. It didn't do any good though.
Anyway I'm going nuts while I'm waiting for the ear doctor. I Cant seem to keep myself just writing. Music has been so important to me all my live and I can sing. I just needed to be reminded that I could still sing.

Feel better after gitting A Pie out. As far as finishing the big 7 I was thinking about doing a fiseo for BOG. I cant get myself to write it though. Mabye if I told you what I had in mind and you want to see if I can pull it off it would incourage me to white it. If not I'll just write something eventually. The idea Is I'm your Jest. Thought I was going to record a a couple but ended up dropping a few. I have 4 more midis I seem to have availible and might think about recording. The two Pink Floyd midis I have sound awesome. I remember my Fast Lane midi sounding great. Since It's about Sonic the hedgehog I had thought about a video project to do with that. I still don't feel like writing bog and it makes me mad. Cant start a fire without a spark.
Maybe record the two Floyds and see if Joel and I can get together and do some stuff for Fast Lane.

I'm still planning to re record my act. I hope will still have enough will to write for Idol. I don't really want to record any more on soundclick. I do tend to really enjoy performing live. I may end up doing stuff for Youtube and not parodying as much. However I do like the Idea of doing so. I don't want to end up paying to use music and I love music.
I've been thinking magic songs like Abracadabra and stuff like Two Of Hearts
If I do magic I will have to plan what to do and how to do it.
I will take any requests for a trick you would like me to try and do and or a song you would like me to work with.

I am now going to forget re recording my youtube thing and move on to other Youtube ideas.
If I were to do a magic trick and put on a cd or whatever in the background would that be okay to do or am I supposed to pay some fee or something for using someones song? I wouldn't be making money in this case.

just a Youtube Idea if I can pull it off. Using Back In Black and doing another color change job. You haven't seen me juggle yet and what I juggle is what I plan on changing colors.

The skin in my ears is infected. The medal bone operation is going to be sceduled. I'ts not expected that I will gain a whole lot back from this. My doctor has an e-mail so I'm going to go ask him some questions and stuff.
Youtube idea is still coming.

The bone surgery is scheduled for Sept. 10th

exited about that ^ through logic I'm in agreement fith this doctor. He wants to do this and check on my left ear. After fixing the bone in my ear if there's still a hearing loss then a hearing aid or device would be what I need.
My Youtube idea is written but I need something from the store and perhaps a little practice. this week or some time next week.
I'm going to work on my idle thing today.

Idle parody has been done. Youtube idea still in progress and soon I'll have nothing to do but see how many times I mess up in front of the camera. I'd lik to send one or three things in just as writings, but can't really think of anything.
My mind is just kind of wandering around like it usually does. I've been thing about my Soundclick account ( haven't done anything with it. don't know what to do with it, but deleteing it Isn't a good solution), My Youtube acount and doing stuff there, Starting to start my own live ( get my ears fixed, if succesful report to SSI, they'll probably kick me out, I'll have the freedom to busker and or buy stock if I wanted, I could also try to make a little change at Soundclick.
Anyway if you have any ideas for things you would like to see me do , hear me sing, or anything else I'm open.

Joel didn't want to get together a video tape with me yesterday so I changed one of my tricks. It kind of went off topic with the rest of what I was doing. Still want to get video it today or tomorrow.
I've gone quite a while without dreams in my sleep. I'm getting them again. Usually they are just stuff like a first day of school situation or something, but I missed my dreams.

I'm gonna get my idle entry in And record Back In Black. When I do the performance I'm going to end it at the Ins because I seem to be having trouble with the timing of getting back to the song. I have it all written out though for Amiright.
Halloween is going to be coming up. Beware of parody writes and youtube videos that may be released in October. Especially if I get a successful surgery and it helps my hearing.

I think it's time for me to take a writers break. I am done with idle unless someone really wants me to stay in it. I'll get Black videoed one of these days and see if I can get some Halloween ideas to submit later. Maybe I'll do a Soundclick recording from my past works. There's still some parodies of mine I might want to try recording.

I looked through all my writings. There are three that I think would be good to recording because they're things people can relate to. Disneyland was fun when Young- theres a midi for Supercal but it leaves out parts and limits me.
Who put this *rap in my fasta food order- there's a midi for WPT Bomp but the midi seems fast in places to me. My other choice was Ickity yuckedy Euw. BB Boo isn't much of a song. Just playing harmonica on Scounclick is not as impressive sounding as a midi, but on Youtube the sound Is not always as big of an issue.

I just got together with Joel and found out that most of the tricks and stuff I just cant do. Not a good song pick ( too fast for most stuff) and I'm trying to cram too much together anyway. For the one trick that I can make work I'll probably want to make a routine for and put that up on Youtube.

Nope, I can't do that either. I'll just have to rewrite my parody where those tricks were. That's going to be so hard. I don't think I'll ever get this done ;)

Well Darn it, **it has been happening and this was the last day before Joel goes back to school. Maybe we can do it Friday. Hmm.. Friday, is anything going on Friday? Well I hope you'll like it if it ever gets out.

The ACDC recording is cancelled because it's just not working out. I may do some magic tricks on Youtube.

Good news is I should have your Idol winning song on the AmIRight All Stars account by Monday--can't guarantee it--but it looks like it's going to work out!

8) yeah wasn't one of my best writes, but as long as it gives people a few chuckles then I'm happy.
Joel downloaded some sort of program. Used one of my Cd's and clicked to take the vocals out and told me it sounds better then Midis. I'm not sure if this would be okay to use for backgrounds to parodies or not. I did pay for the Cd's though and this thing doesn't have any effect on anything in Youtube anyway so it might be okay. I might want to see if there are any good writes I have written with the OS on CD and use this program if it is okay to use.

I don't have many cd's and didn't find anything. There really aren't any more writes I want to record right now on Soundclick. Equipment is down and I cant really record anything for Youtube if I thought of anything. Parody juice is down so I cant write.
Every ounce of energy, runnin has been drained
So forget about much writen, Eguipments down a shame
Here I am, with a block again
Here I am, broken stage
Here I go, back to bed again

Well I know I cant do much right now so this is a good time not to have any Ideas. I mentioned something about maybe doing parodies and using my harmonica. I looked in songfacts at the songs and recognized I Should Have Known Better, Love Me Do, and Piano Man. I know there's more and also things that could sound okay with harmonica.
Lately I've been picking up an Ibanez and trying to find stuff by ear. Never could remember my cords in the past and get lost with tablature so forget reading music.

Okay I'm sitting here trying to find stuff on the guitar. * there there now that wasn't right* hmm... workin on R's and B's
Miss Rocksann and her pretend band. This would be fun to do on Youtube.

You know it might be fun to do that, but I just have been getting these feelings that I'm going to be going through a lot of ch ch changes in my live. I think I'm just going to have to forget trying to write a bunch of stuff or do a bunch of stuff on Youtube. I'm going to have less time doing this kind of stuff and more time spent on what mom considers a job. I'm probably going to be going through a lot of b.... wars with my mom. Fear of the unknown and The pain from pain I'm still going to probably have might be what is making me feel sick right now.
Don't expect anything, but I do want to get some Halloween parodies written.

I'll be packing and leaving with my mom after dinner to go to Sacramento for the night. I need to be at the hospital at 7:30am. I'll most likely be absent for a day or three.
I ment tomarrow whatever I'm too exited
