Subject: Guess who wrote this - an Amiright parody quiz
Written By: EthanM on 10/21/05 at 1:08 pm
This is the first of what may be a series... a five question multiple choice quiz where i give a few lines from a parody by a fairly established author here and four choices as to who wrote it. Write your answers (just the numbers and letters) in this thread
1: "Kenny’s dead
There’s a forklift poking through his head
And a NASA shuttle crushed his bed
You Bastards! You’ve killed Kenny dead!"
A) Rick Duncan
B) South Park Al
c) Peter Andersson aka K1chyd
d) Malcolm Higgins
2: "Jeb doesn't work because he is a millionaire.
The kinfolk said, "Jeb, move away from there."
They said callous DC is the place he oughta be.
In '08 they'll load the shmuks up with lots of currency--
Bills, that is, greenbacks, swag, bribes, dollars"
A) John A. Barry
B) William Tong
C) Michael Pacholek
D) Robert J. Pagliaro
3:
"Oh, “Quetzâ€Â, I crave your blessings; please
Make Spaniards stop oppressing; Jeez
This is quite so distressing
So tired of acquiescing
We pray you’ll be addressing
Help us, Quetzalcoatl; Say
praised be, Quetzalcoatl; Praise
Praise to Quetzalcoatl; Pray
Help us, Quetzalcoatl; Hey"
A) Phil Alexander
B) Paul Robinson
C) Merry and Pippin
D) Johhny D
4:
Yiddish expressions like "kreplach" and "tchotchkes"
I enjoy eating my shiksa with latkes
Dim sum or sushi or tapas hors d'oeuvres,
Foods are incredible edible words
A) Spaff.com
B) Bob Gomez
C) 2nz
D) Merry & Pippin
5:
This ring has taken its toll on me
I've seen the eye too many times before
And Mount Doom is quaking in front of me
I have no choice cause Middle Earth's already at war
A) Ethan Mawyer
B) Arwen
C) EmiLoca
D) Jake A. Ralphing (Luke Brattoni)

#1 is Peter Andersson, "Kenny's Dead", parody of "Yesterday" by The Beatles. The rest I don't know.
Good idea Ethan.

you got it... but from now on i'd prefer if you just guessed the letters for the first day at least... part of the point is to try to see how well you know an author's style without necessarily knowing the song.

In that case, I'm going to go with 2 being either B) Tong or A) John Barry. It's tricky because I know Bob has done the BH theme lots of times and of course bashes the right lots of times. But I don't think he slavishly tries to match every syllable to the original the way JB and WT do ("callous DC" for "California"; "sch*uck" for "truck". Think I'll go with A); though I wouldn't totally rule out anyone. I have guesses on the others but I'll let someone else play.

CBBBB, though I'm only sure of two (self and Bob Gomez) , for the rest I'm guessing you're not going too tricky on us in the first round. ;)

Cool idea for a contest, Ethan...and I'm not just saying that because I got both a MENTION & also happened to be a correct ANSWER...I really did enjoy coming up with those lines for that piece....in fact, I enjoyed writing the whole thing...
Paul Robinson
PS - Are you planning any more such games/contests? I don't look in as much as I used to but I will keep an eye out for this type of thing when I do.
