Subject: Chucky: Please clarify your site guidelines

Written By: Johnny_D on 01/16/04 at 01:29 p.m.

Chucky,

Please explain to us all precisely why you personally find "Smells Like Dead Babies" acceptable for your website yet you did not find my masturbation parody "The Choker" acceptable for your website.

The equation I see at work in your mind is:

Sexual content = NOT OK

Extreme violence and extreme emotional pain to readers = OK

I would really like to know exactly why "Smells Like Dead Babies", a parody about violence to innocents which stabs at the heart of anybody who's ever lost a baby, is acceptable to you, whereas "The Choker", a parody in which a guy brags euphemistically about his self-love-life but does not hurt anyone or cause profound emotional pain to anyone, is not acceptable to you.

Just curious,

Johnny D

I think "EXTREME EMOTIONAL PAIN TO READERS" is an exageration, but basically the site is located in America, and if you haven't noticed, that's what's acceptable here. Sex isn't acceptable, violence is fine (so long as it doesn't target a specific individual).

There's no clarification needed, as it doesn't say anything about violence in general, but does state that sex topics are not acceptable.

Chucky,

OK, I will admit that my choice of the words "EXTREME EMOTIONAL PAIN TO READERS" was an exaggeration - I apologize for being a bit histrionic there, Chucky - no offense was intended.

Your explanation is pretty much what I surmised to be the case - thank you for stating it in such clear and simple terms.

Speaking for myself now....

I am sad that in America there is a social more which states that we as a society do harm to our children by exposing them to subject matter that deals with consenting adults using parts of their bodies for reproduction and/or for loving mutual pleasure and happiness.....

Whereas.....

.....American society does NOT seem to believe that we do any harm whatsoever to our children by exposing them to subject matter that deals with murdering, torturing, and cannibalizing babies.

But as you said, Chucky, that's just the way it is, and you and I are both simply being realistic by acknowledging that very sad fact of life here in America.
