Subject: Multiple Personality Disorder?
I can't claim to remember everything I did yesterday, but I'm quite certain that I neither wrote nor posted these two parodies:

Sorry if there's a joke I'm missing here. Anybody wanna fill me in? Could it be that I have an evil twin? Or maybe I'm the evil twin and there is a good twin out there?

it could be someone trying to hurt your reputation but if that were the case why would they have the link to your website?
Chances are its someone who wants to have their parodies read and figures that the best way to do that would be to post under a name that they knew people here respect.
Considering the quality of the parodies there was probably not much planning involved with this
i know stg had someone post parodies pretending to be him and i think william tong did too and they are amiright legends

*sigh*
These people are getting annoying....we need log-in names for submitting parodies

Another one today.

Anybody wanna take credit for it? I'm not upset - just curious.

Perhaps I should feel honored - some impostor feels they have to borrow my "Amiright Name" to draw attention to their own parodies - whoever you are, take credit for your own excellent work - don't waste the credit on me.....
This one's not by me, folks, but I am flattered .......

If any of you who've been hit by the imposters, so far, want them deleted, it might be a good idea to start a new thread with a subject line like "Chucky, Delete These Imposters" so Chucky's sure to see it and knows, for sure, that's what the real author wants done. Maybe the rest of us could keep an eye on the latest comments section, for "This isn't mine!" comments from authors who don't do the boards, we can ask if they want it deleted and, if so, add the URL to that thread, for them.
Just in case, I'll cross my "T"s in advance:
My workload runneth over, big time, so unless I post on this board, from this registered account, that I've submitted something, there will be no new ones from me in the next few days. If something that's not mine is submitted under my name, I do want it deleted.

I believe I've deleted all the imposters now...
I never bothered with a registration system, since I figured there would be no point to faking someone's identity (plus it would get deleted fairly quickly). Hopefully the twit doing this gets bored when they see them removed. I saw an obvious Spaff imposter this morning which didn't even get posted, I guess I missed the other one.
I finish my classes this week, so maybe in the upcoming weeks I'll create a password system for parody authors (which will also prevent people from posting comments as parody authors).
The problem with doing something like this, is that it won't really eliminate the problem. People can still do things like "Johnny_D" or "Johnny D ", etc. to try and fool people. I can filter for obvious stuff, but ultimately, it's an arms race. I find a way to prevent someone from doing something annoying, they find a way around it.

wouldn't it be certain that its a fake, if the song didn't come from the main account of that artist...for example, if theres a parody by one Bill Florio, and youre certain that Billy only submits under the name, Billy Florio, wouldn't a problem be obvioius...but of course, Bill could also very much so be a new name on the scene, very unlikely, but possible, so it may make more work for you to maybe pm or email Billy to see if its his or not, or request an email, and attempt to see if Bill is Billy, or an imposter...as I write more, my point seems less and less logical...lol...
