Subject: Album parodies

Written By: ChuckyG on 11/28/03 at 02:50 p.m.

I wrote a simple script for allowing album parodies to be entered. If you have a complete album parodied (or you did a opera type thing, with a half dozen or more songs which should appear together), email me and I'll give you the address for the page to submit it as a summary page.

I didn't make the page fancy (kinda based on the parody submission scripts), it's a little ugly, and maybe not the easiest way to enter them, but it should work ok. I don't want it linked to like the parody submission engine, since it's not really something that needs to get used often.

any qeustions? ask away

Me and Saider E. submitted alot of parodies that were supposed to go into an album, but we didn't know there was an album option. Can we still make them into an album?

It's entirely possible I'm looking right at the link and not seeing it, but is there a section that lists the whole album parodies or some other way to navigate to them or...?

I really like the idea of being able to read/rate/enjoy an entire album worth of songs at a time, as I listen to the album.

OK!  I've just been looking for them wrong, then.  No need to be sorry, it's a great feature and we're lucky to have it.   Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

Subject: Musicals

Chuck, I just wondered about including text or dialog. If I wanted to post my entire HMS Pinafore, or Wizard of Oz parody, would there be a place for it here? How about musicals or operas?

Hey you can edit what you have on the site right? I was just thinking, if you put the parody album into whatever prog you use, if it automatically links to the authors and things, I have an idea that might work. Could you erase the "and" in "Neo Matrix 'and' Saider Eiegle" and instead have the author name as "Neo Matrix; Saider Eiegle"?

duo parodies, irregardless of whether its an album parody or normal, will not appear on a parody author's page.  I'm not going to change it, so please stop asking.

I'd prefer to keep the album concept limited to just actual albums, and parodies that have a running story line (like a rock opera). Otherwise I'm sure there's plent of parody authors who could create their own "food" themed albums, anti-Clinton, etc. I'm trying to keep the number of album parodies limited to just songs that were intended to be connected when they were written.

I have an album parody coming up soon. The concept of the album is: Will past pop-culture have any survival in 2004? The story isn't really linear, but works nonetheless. But I have to wait for you to add my last parody for the album onto the site.

ok...just asking cause my WDW parodies were in a way meant to be an album...

anyway, do album parodies have to have one concept/topic through each song? like drugs, food, etc?
