Subject: amiright convention? site anniversary?
http://www.inthe00s.com/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.cgi?board=membersonly&action=display&num=1068258067&start=0
I started a thread in the "Playful Penguin Place" board to discuss a potential celebration 1.5 years out, for the upcoming 10 year anniversary of my first website (and the 5 year anniversary of amiright). It might also be a good time to plan an amiright convention (to coincide with it?)

Las Vegas becasue I live there
Subject: Re: amiright convention? site anniversary?
Hmm... I'll have to see if I can find any American customers to fly me over ;-)
I love the idea of an amiright convention, though: you'd not have to worry about entertainment, either...
Subject: Re: amiright convention? site anniversary?

but if it's on he west coast forget it :( or even the east coast...i'm somewhat broked...:(

Maybe someone or a bunch of you Americans who are also aspiring writers in other fields should try to cook up an eppy script for C.S.I: "The death of irony", about a parody artist apparently laughing himself to death at a parody songs convention in Las Vegas. But it turns out to be murder.
The script should not be sold for money, but traded so that like 247 of us should be flewn in by the network and get rolls as extras etc.
As for the plot. After a few ponderings it turns out that the victim was the dreaded "1 guy" and that someone had found out and decided to take him out of the quire.
And of course the eppy would come with the funniest soundtrack ever. Released on its own merits and financing the whole "show". ;-)

Dunno....I'm pretty sure any Amiright convention would result in some drunken Florios, a neutering of Merry and Pippin, and k1chyd throwing me into a bonfire...... ;D

(and the 5 year anniversary of amiright).

Didn't Amiright start in 2000? If so, the 5 year anniversary would be in 2005.

Yes, that is why he said "potential celebration 1.5 years out." ::)

You're right; I guess I overlooked that part. Thanks for clarifying.

amiright started as a seperate site in 2000, but I began collecting parodies and misheard lyrics in 1997 (or maybe 1996, not sure anymore)

Naa... I would just start to go after the waiters for "More Gagh d**mit!" :P
Then I would loose too much money in a "Ferengi slot machine".
Finally I would dip my lenses in whatever available green-coloured alcohol, put them back in, rip my shirt and start to go after the femmes... :-*
Those are the only logical things to do at a convention... :D

So THAT'S where that word comes from....

Rather than something done in a convent?
Subject: Re: amiright convention? site anniversary?
I'd love to attend an amiright party, as long as I get signed statements from everyone that I won't be sued for contributing to the delinquency of minors.
And Las Vegas is within driving distance. (It's a loooong drive, but hey.)
Subject: Re: amiright convention? site anniversary?
What month and year are we planning for? BTW: Wild Man and I, are planning to attend. I hope many other regulars are serious about making the commitment.
Subject: Re: amiright convention? site anniversary?
I guess it depends on where it's being held. Still set on Las Vegas? How about the middle of the US, at least?
