BAY CITY ROLLERS
http://warriordoc.com/images/entertainment/bcr.jpg
The Bay City Rollers were a Scottish pop rock band formed in 1967 under the name "The Saxons". Seeking a less english sounding name, they decided on a new name by throwing a dart at a map, which landed on Bay City, Michigan. From 1971-1975, the Bay City Rollers took the International market by storm with a string of Top 40 hits. Their cover of the Four Seasons' "Bye Bye Baby" was the biggest seeling single in the UK of 1975. Through all this success, the group had gone unnoticed in North America until late 1975, when "Saturday Night" hit #1 in the US and Canada.
Personnel:
Eric Faulkner (Lead Guitar)
Alan Longmuir (Bass)
Derek Longmuir (Drums)

ROSETTA STONE

Rosetta Stone was a band formed by Ian Mitchell, ex guitarist for Bay City Rollers. Rosetta Stone started in 1973 under the name Young City Stars, and gained a small following playing local clubs and bars, often as the opening act for the Bay City Rollers. In 1976, Mitchell left to join the Bay City Rollers, but returned later that year. Following a name change to Rosetta Stone, the group signed a record deal, and released 2 albums in the late 70s before Mitchell quit the band in 1979. Rosetta Stone continued on releasing an EP in 1982 before calling it quits in 1984

Some Trivia: "Remember", "Hidin From Love" and "Straight From the Heart" were all written by Bryan Adams. Rosetta Stone released their version of "Straight From the Heart" 1 year before Bryan made it a hit for himself. The song was actually written in 1980 for a group called Fast Forward

Aarrgh! the 'Tartan Terrors!'
But, by heck, were they huge for a while!
And a textbook case of how not to have a successful career, as they are still fighting for their royalties...
On the single version of 'Keep On Dancing', the vocals were performed by Jonathan King...it was re-recorded in 1975 with Les singing lead, which is the version that normally crops up on compilations today...
Clark did get his voice on record...he originally sang lead on 'Saturday Night' (released in Britain in 1973), but sadly, his efforts were scrubbed when Les joined as frontman...Les's re-recording is the one off the 'Rollin'' LP and also the #1 single...
Rosetta Stone I've never heard of (no hits at all in Britain), but I'm willing to bet that their 'big' German hit was an update of Amen Corner's 1969 smash...

as in "Everyone's Gone to the Moon" Jonathan King?

Their music was okay, but I always thought the guys were rather goofy-looking! :D

The same...
And although this wasn't a 'psuedonym' per se..., he has had British hits with nine different 'aliases'...a record!

That could be Jonathan King. In the early 2000s, he was sentenced to prison for sex related offenses that happened in the 80s involving young boys
oh, and Lol @ Jaso ;D

In actual fact, it was the drummer, Derek Longmuir (the blond one) who was nabbed for being in posession of illegal photographs (which he claimed he knew nothing about)...
Jonathan King (although nothing to do with the group as such) has also served time for sexual offences on young men, which he still denies...
And the Rollers' manager Tam Paton (who is reckoned to have swiped most of the group's cash) has also been alleged to have committed child sex offences, but this was never proven...
