Wow!
That must have took some time, Jason...
From a collecting point of view, her first British releases are the ones that have Madge fans drooling...simply because two of them ('Everybody' & the first issue of 'Lucky Star') sold nothing and are as rare as hen's teeth...
'Burning Up' was never commercially released here (promos do exist), but eventually made it onto the 12" of 'Angel'...
Values? At least

Very nice chart! Just out of curiosity... I see that "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" appears in 1985... was the charted version a re-release or newly recorded?

The original 1985 release was a Japan only hit. In 1995, it was remixed and included on her greatest ballad hits compilation called Something to Remember and in 1996 saw release as a single :)

No UK release for that, probably because...
1. There was a tremendous amount of Madge product to be getting on with in 1985 (see above!)...
2. As you rightly say, Jimmy Nail had a sizeable hit with it that self-same year...
...so it would have been rather pointless to release it!
I can see how Jimmy Nail's version would clash with that of Madonna's
According to wikipedia, her record label passed on a 1996 UK re-issue of it because they'd already chose to re-issue 'Oh Father' for a first UK release

Her best period lasted from Like a Virgin to True Blue to Like a Prayer to finally the "Vogue" single, Erotica was comparatively mediocre and Bedtime Stories is her great "underrated" album, IMO. She's really a creative and in many ways underrated artist...in terms of her importance and merit, that is.

Very nice list, Jason... Madonna certainly has had an enviable list of international hits around the world over the past several decades...

It's quite shocking how she sort of struggled to have a sizeable hit in America in the later 90s and 2000s. Generally, a singer or band is more successful in their own country than anywhere else, but not in her case :\'(

I only like:
"Everybody"
"Holiday"
"Lucky Star"
"Borderline"
"Material Girl"
"Dress You Up"
"Into The Groove"
"Live To Tell"
"La Isla Bonita"
"Open Your Heart"
"Like A Prayer"
"Vogue"
Not into her songs from the 1990's & today...
Though "Music" is OK, but doesn't top her early songs... :P

I have that album. That's one of my "cry" CDs. I play it when I am depressed and I end up crying.

There was a U.S. release of "Burning Up" on 12" vinyl, with "Physical Attraction" on the B-Side.
The U.S. 12" of "Angel" has "Into The Groove" on the B-Side. I don't believe ITG was released as a single initially in the U.S.
"Get Together" is getting some good airplay here on the dance station.
I think my favourite Madonna tune is "I'll Remember". :)
