Very fun! Ya know, before I saw that one site, I never heard of those giant people before. I've never seen any around Ohio. We did see a giant king kong on the way to Virginia Beach though.  :)

I wish we had more of those things around here. There is one in Lancaster, Pa...an amish guy....one in Schellsburg, Pa (a pied piper)...and we have this big football player in Gbg, Pa. It's at a tire shop...and they have it painted the Steeler's colors...and the number has changed everytime the QB has changed...it's been there for YEARS!!

South of Dayton, close to Cincy, in a very small town, which I love. I live outside town, just far enough out, where there are old country houses and barns and fields around us.  It takes me 7 minutes to get back to town and to my job.

Yes..infact, there used to be this great roadside attraction (that I happen to have a neat collection of old postcards and other memoribilia of it) along the Lincoln Highway (Route 30). It was called, "The SS Grandview Point Hotel". It was a very happenin' place and even hosted some famous people of the time.

Then the years went by and it changed ownership and the new owners made it into a place called, "Noah's Ark"...and basically it was a lookout.

The Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor wanted to preserve it, but a few years ago...someone set it on fire and it burned down.  I was SO upset over this. I never did get to go and take pictures of the ship and I was planning on doing so...but it burned down.

Here in Aus we pride ourselves on "Big" things - many towns have a "Big" thing that signify whatever their town is famous for.  My dad lives between the Big Banana and the Big Elephant, and my friend lives opposite the Big Ram and my cousin lives near the Big Merino.

When you first see the statue, it really freaks you out because you don't expect it because it is right there on the major thoroughfare.

The Wonder Tower sounds like a must-see if we are ever that way. The weirdness is so quirky and so not what people today seem to be looking for. Plus everyone seems to fly on trips so they miss out on a lot of these gems.

That's GREAT.  I need to get a copy of the Roadside Attractions....to be more purposeful about seeing as many as possible.  I think this is a worthy life goal  :D

I actually drove past this place once or twice, it's on I-10 about 50 miles east of El Paso, Texas.

I always liked the Weird New Jersey site.  It's got a "roadside." It's also got a lot of "abandoned" weirdness on it.  If you poke around in the dark corners of NJ, you might get more than you bargained for!
