Well, there was this Japanese restaurant in Rome, Georgia (where my dad's family still lives in) that was built on a hill that was a former cemetary for Civil War (or World War 1) casualities. The urban legend was that every night after the restaurant closed, the ghosts of these soldiers would rattle the pans in anger because they didn't like foreigners taking over their land. The restaurant is still open for business. Even though it has changed management, it is still a Japanese restaurant There are several stories about  haunted buildings built under sacred grounds (like a Native American burial ground). I do remember a shopping mall they built when I was a kid that was on an old graveyard. The bit I think was horrible and very disrepectful was they set all the old gravestones in the walls of the mall like a feature!

The building my mom used to work at had some old Native American bones under it. They dug them up and buried them more respectfully in another place after the people at the warehouse started complaining about "strange happenings". Not to mention the fact that the alarms would go off at night, cops would be alerted, and then they couldn't find anyone in there or any windows or doors opened. :P

there's a local shopping center near us that I believe was buried on an Indian burial ground.....but I've never really heard any freaky things about that one in particular.

There are a lot of little cemetaries like that around Salt Lake City.  Brigham Young, who was the prophet that led all of the Mormons to Salt Lake is buried right in the middle of an old neighborhood.  It's really weird - there is this small lot, pretty much hidden, and he and a few of his wives and children are buried there.  You have to know where it is to find it, and I don't think many people do.

There is also an old pionner cemetary pretty much on the side of the highway in a little town north west of here.  It's maybe 15 feet wide and 30 feet long.  There's a big housing development being put in behind it.  Totally weird.

Why do the ghosts wait until the restaurant closes?  Why do the limit their mischief to rattling pots and pans?  If they built a restaurant on my grave, I'd go up during dinner and slit a few throats.  That would take care of the problem pretty quick!

Yes, we walked around in there and I took pictures of some of the individual graves. Some of the  graves are outlined with white washed fences or stones. I'll see if I can repost the links so that they will open up to the full sized pictures. The cemetery is called El Campo Santo ("Holy Field"). The graves were discovered with sonar equipment in 1993. The site was placed on the San Diego registry of historic places. One grave was exumed and relocated, otherwise they were left undisturbed. Most of the graves were of people who died in their 30's , 40's. Some infants and children's graves were present as well.

Have you never seen the movie, Ghost?? :D It takes a ton of paranormal, telekinetic energy to be able to even slide a penny across a table.. So those pots and pans would use up all the energy they have. Give them credit where credit is due!!  ;D

Under Lower Manhattan, probably the highest rent district in the world, were buried approximately 20,000 African and African American slaves, men, women, and children; It is possible that some of the first slaves brought into the colonies are buried there.  We must assume in the years that lower Manhattan was being built up in the mid 1800s many of the bodies were probably dug up and discarded without a second thought.  In 1990 when a foundation to a building was being dug work was stopped when some coffins were found.  Old maps of the city showed the existence of the area as a burial ground. During my family genealogical study I found a ggggrandmother who was born in the late 1700s in Flushing.  Perhaps some of those bodies were/are family. It is a wierd thought.

Lancaster General Hospital was expanding and they stumbled upon human bones.  Turns out it was an old Indian burial ground.  After that it was a Mennonite Meeting House.  Needless to say the area is now a school of nursing.

How does one measure scientifically "paranormal telekinetic energy"?  One does not.  If you can scientifically measure paranormal energy it is ipso facto no longer "paranormal."  I have never seen any scientific proof of the phenomenon of telekinesis, which is not to deny its existence.  I have never seen any scientific evidence of ghosts--as in presence of the spirits of the dead--which is not to say ghosts don't exist.

However, this mean the telekinetic power of unproven entities is immeasurable!
