Subject: Hello everyone, I'm new.
I'd like to say a big hello to everyone on the message board! I'm a newer member, but I was reading the board since the beginning of August to get a feel of things.
About me? Well, I'm a 16 y/o male that lives in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. That's about it I guess.
Oh ya, and incase your wondering, my name means "I am a pizza" in French. :D Long story behind that...
Subject: Re: Hello everyone, I'm new.
Ahh! There's my problem. I was pronounced suis with two syllables.
I'm not very good at French...
Welcome to the boards!

LOL! ;D That's happened I few time before. It does look like the word "Jesus" when you quickly look at it.
lucky_staar, (welcome to the board) I'm from Windsor, Ontario, Canada. It's just on the other side of the international border from Detroit, Michigan, USA. Windsor is actually located south of Detroit.
And thanks everyone to take their time to welcome me. :)

Welcome to the boards bro! ;D
Subject: Re: Hello everyone, I'm new.
Hi jesuisunpizza, big bienvenue to you!
I was in Windsor, Ontario once a few years ago (I'm English). I was on a business trip to Detroit, my colleague said "let's go to Canada this evening", so we did. The Canadian border guards let us over the bridge without checking passports, which was fine because I didn't have mine with me.
Guess what? On the way back, the US customs officers were much more rigid and wouldn't let me into the country, so I had to sit there in the "suspect illegal immigrant" area while my friend went back to the hotel, got my passport, drove back into Windsor then back over the bridge to release me from temporary incarceration.

Hi jesuisunpizza!
I knew what your name meant, as I took French in college for a couple of years. :D Welcome to the boards...I hope you're having a good time here!
BTW Maddog, that is quite a story you shared with us. What would have happened if they hadn't let you back into the U.S.?

Actually I just remembered, the US border control didn't incarcerate me, they just refused to let me into the USA and sent me back over the bridge into Canada. Their words went something like "We don't know who the hell you are - get back to Canada!".
The Canadians were much more sympathetic to my situation (to some degree they'd caused the problem by letting me over their border no passport in the first place). The Canadian border guards let me sit in their waiting room until my colleague got back with my passport.
P.S. Sorry for hijacking your welcome thread here jesuisunpizza, it's just Windsor didn't bring back particularly great memories for me. I went to a Redwings game at the Joe Louis stadium too but...they lost in overtime to the LA Kings. I guess that trip was doomed.
