tomorow is election day and it has me thinking about my first voting experience......and so i was searching around looking for the ballot from 1988 (my first election was 1988)....Bush vs Dukakis....i remember the strong desire to be able to vote Reagan out of office in 1984, but being too young...well, somehow i fell into here and kinda got sucked in. been reading this stuff for hours....
anyway....

i was born in 1969 and so i was approximately 11-21 during the 80's....my most memorable moments: (not in any order)

John Lennon being killed (which was also the first time i remember seeing my dad cry)

The Challenger. MTV. (strange timing....i actually turned the channel just as the station came in....i remember thinking "what the f*#&?!?").....the USA beating the USSR Hockey team (since then, i have always enjoyed hockey, and i remember that being the first time i felt "Proud to be an American")......Pac Man (i wish i had all those quarters back!!)

checkerboard Vans....Smurfs....the thought of Nuclear war scared the bajeeesus out of me....New Coke...Prince's 1999.....Baby Jessica....AIDS....Tienanmen Square....losing my virginity....

hello. i am Other - and i became who i am today during the *dreadful* Reagan Years.....and, yes, i am still afraid of Nuclear War....and i am still Proud to be an American.
