Subject: "Ooh ooh anytime that you want me" (FInally solved after months)
Written By: ChrisBodilyTM on 06/09/10 at 5:57 pm
Today (June 9, 2010) on "next gen" classic rock 94.7 the Brew right before "Sister Christian," they played a song from the 70s or 80s (the only decades they play from) in the key of E major/minor, mid-tempo. The chorus went something along the lines of "Ooh ooh ooooooooh!" It was a male singer. The chords were:
E........... D........
Ooooooh oooooh
A
Ooooooooooooh!
Then the chord changes to E with a Zeppelin-esque single-note line.
The melody, chords and tempo are almost like "Crystal Ball" by Styx. This song in question gets played on classic rock radio A LOT, but I;'ve never been able to understand the lyrics, let alone find out the name of it. It's got a heavy 70s-sounding guitar playing the chorus and a male singer. The backup vocals go "Oooh Oooh Ooooooh!" You would know this song if you heard it.
Can anybody oplease help. Big Karma points to the lucky person. :)

Have you checked on their website? I've found a ton of song titles that way. You must know roughly what time of day it played, and you know the song that was played after it.

They don't have a listing for "Last songs played," unfortunately. This is driving me insane. I've heard the song so many times, but never put a name to the face. Google is no help at all. Yahoo! has asked the same question, but their answers aren't even close to the song I heard on the radio.
I'm stumped. If anybody knows this song, please speak now for forever hold your peace.

Other than "Ooh ooh ooooooooh!", do you remember any of the lyrics at all?
It's not Heartbraker by the Stones, is it?

Jamie's Cryin - Van Halen
or on the Brew playlist they give Centerfold - J Geils Band before Sister Christian (though I don't know if this is listed in the order they always play songs)

Not even close. Sorry. :(
In what order is this supposed to be, ascending or descending? The last time I checked for last song's played the current song was "Harden My Hard," and then they played "We're Not Gonna Take It." From there, you can just follow it down.... nevermind, I can't seem to find Wednesday's playlist at all... ?
I guess I'll Youtube this elusive song or just give up. :\'(

Nope. It's not that one, either. :-\\
There are no keyboards or synths. It's a very stripped-down arrangement -- a BIG bombastic 70s/early '80s rock song (a la Styx, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, Foreigner, etc.) with distorted guitars, a moderately slow tempo, E major/minor key.
Listen to "Crystal Ball" by Styx (Chorus ONLY, starting at 1:39) and see if you can think of any song with a similar chorus.

It sounds almost exactly like that, except for "Ooh oohhhh oooohhhhhhhh" instead of "Baaaaall."

OMG... fin-a-lee! :o
It's the "Anytime" portion of Journey's "Feeling That Way/Anytime"

They played it on KRXO just last night before "Back in Black" (same chords and progression! ;D) and "Point of Know Return." Then I just looked it up on a site that gave me their song log. Thank God for the internet. Great song!
Oooh Ohh anytime that you want me
Oooh Ohh anytime that you need me
