Need some help with the vocoded lyrics in Eddie and the Players, Space Invaders, an obscure little bit of dementia aired on Dr. Demento in 1982.

Working from an ancient cassette. I'm wondering if "?raider raider?" isn't a mishearing of "vader", "later", or some such. I'm wondering if it "raygun raider" wasn't an intentional pun on 'Reagan radar", and I'm also wondering if there was another verse to go with the long version, but I don't think I've ever heard the long version.
Anyone out there remember this little bit of obscurantia? Post your take on it!

I realize that this is a really, really old post so I hope you're still on this forum. This song is something I've been trying to find, online or offline, for years. It got stuck in my head from when I was a kid. The only format that it's available in is vinyl (on 45) and I haven't been able to find it in stock anywhere. However, you can listen to a stream of Space Invaders by Eddie and the players (along with other songs about video games) at http://www.madmusic.com/playlist.aspx?Show=BWR-11-09-27. The lyrics for the extended version, as best I can make out, are as follows:

My recording is about 2:20-2:30 long depending on how good/bad my tape recorder was when I recorded it off radio and what was left when I played it back, and it fades out here in the bridge. I had no idea there was another verse that actually dealt with what happened to the player into the endgame...
