I'm having trouble trying to remember two songs. I don't remember who played them or what the songs are called. :-\\

I know that one of the songs had a video of it, with someone who looked like Gary Coleman(I'm not sure if it's him)... A few lyrics like of it went like this I think: Anywhere but here.(I haven't seen it in awhile)

The second song I'm trying to think of, I really like. What lyrics I remember from it go like this(I think): Kitty and Cleo(that's all I remember of it)

I've tried searching for it on google and youtube and have turned up empty handed.

I've been searching the web all over too for those two songs, but came up empty as well.  :(
I've considered "Oliver's Army" (Elvis Costello) for the first one (because it has the lines "and I would rather be anywhere else but here today"), but there's no Gary Coleman (lookalike) in that video either. :-\\

Coleman himself has only appeared in maybe 3 or 4 music videos, so I am sure it isn't him. Mandy Moore's song comes up the most with google...
Kitty and Cleo - no clue although it sounds like it could be a nursery rhyme adapted into mainstream... but what do I know? ;D :D

The one with the lyrics "Anywhere but here" was sung by a guy, so I know it wasn't K.D. Lang. The thing is, I remember a episode of Beavis and Butt-head where they watched the video for the "Anywhere but here" song.

Both songs are from the 90s. I never knew who played the "Kitty and Cleo" one, which is very frustrating...

Funny thing is... I typed in that title on Youtube, but didn't see it anything that matched it early on... I wonder if youtube searches go by the more popular results of it(since there are multiple Anywhere but here titles). I have heard K.D. Lang's Anywhere but here before as well... forgot to mention that in my last post.

I'll also do more searching for the Kitty and Cleo one too, I'm trying to think of what bands might be likely to have done it... I think that one is alittle bit more obscure, although I remember hearing it on and off on an alt. rock station I used to listen to before it went to crap.

I'm know that part of the lyrics are "Kitty and Cleo", I was just refering to how sometimes bands might have a name for the song that isn't in any of it's lyrics. Although I think it's more likely that "Kitty and Cleo" is the title.

Hmm... I'm going to go and try a google search again to see... I know there is actually another song that I like that might be by the same singer... I just remembered it, although I don't know who the actual title either.

Edit: Incredibly, I found a song and artist I just thought of, Makes no sense at all by Husker Du. Now I'll check to see if they did the other.

Extra Edit: Another search came up with nothing, even typing in kitty and cleo song lyrics didn't work. I wonder what I'm missing that would get the results I need.

I remember hearing that song.... Not the one I'm talking about, though(I think Short Skirt and Long Jacket are from 2000s era, Kitty and Cleo was from the 90s). The chorus consists of Kitty and Cleo(repeated).

I'll keep trying... I think it's fairly obscure, so that's probably why it's really difficult to find.

I know it's not Short skirt and long jacket as that song I've heard over the last few years. The other song I'm thinking of came out in the 90s. I don't remember the exact year I first heard it, but do remember hearing it in that decade.

I know I heard "Cleo"(there aren't many words that rhyme with Cleo, Theo is the only one I can think of and that's a male name) as the last word in each line of the chorus... I'm pretty sure I heard the "Kitty" part of the lyric as well. If it is something I misheard, it would have to rhyme or at least sort rhyme with "kitty". So there is a possibility the lyric could be Katie or something like that if I didn't hear it correctly. I'll check and see on google to just make sure. There is also the possibility that the chorus "Kitty(or Katie) and Cleo" is not the song's title itself, since alt. rock bands would sometimes name songs something that has nothing to do with the song's theme. The title could also be from a verse of the song as well. Unfortunately, I don't remember any of the verses.

Here's how I heard the chorus when it played on the radio:

Kitty and Cleo
Kitty and Cleo...... o... o... o... o... o... o....

I remember hearing carried O's in the chorus. This is why I know it's not "Short skirt and long jacket", since it doesn't have the chorus I'm thinking of.

Forgot to update, ain't Katie and Cleo... Still came up with nothing in searches.

I finally found it!

It's called Kenny and Cleo and it's by the Black Market Flowers.

Kenny sounded like Kitty when I heard on the radio back in the 90s.
