Subject: parody song of detectives and the then goverment

This has been doing my head in for sometime I can remember two songs from the 70's
one was about the then government of the time which had snatches of songs in
it one of which one was "If the boys wanna fight" by Thin Lizzy and the other was about
the group of detectives off the TV ie Columbo, Kojak ,McCloud among other done by
an impressionist I don't think it was Mike Yarwood and in the end they all ended up
fighting each other.

I think the detective song you are looking for is King Of The Cops by Billy Howard (1975)
