This has been haunting me for years. I will describe the cd because it was stolen years ago. I know that the band was not that famous, I think. I believe there was a song with "left" in the title or possibly band name.
The CD was white with black hieroglyphic type drawings of dog, cat on it. I believe the only way to find out is if the person has this CD.
It was an alternative group. Out around 1996-1997.

Try an early album of rancid.
It could be them.
Or it could be Ratcat.
