Subject: A bit of confusion in the ranks - isn't it ironic?
Written By: Jasey on 06/02/05 at 3:26 am
Heya I'm new to the AIR scene. But let's dispense with the pleasantaries, let's cut to the chase as they say in Hollywood. :)
Now when I went to Nonsensical Lyrics and then into Alanis Morisette, I see people complaining that none of the events mentioned in the song are ironic. Well maybe I am a bit confused, but SOME of the things are ironic! 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife: that's an OLD OLD example of irony! And a crashing plane on your first journey after countless amounts of put-offs, that's definite irony! Meeting the man of my dreams... then his wife... that's an iffy one, but has ironic elements. Irony is a hard term to work with but COME ON PEOPLE! I'M ONLY FIFTEEN AND I KNOW IRONY! 8)
Well I had my whinge, and that's my five cents input taken care of. :)
Signing off,
Jasey (an English expert... ha ha I'm even better than scholars in some situations! :D )
