Subject: Need help to identify this song
Written By: K1chyd on 09/12/04 at 12:56 am
Hi!
K1chyd here, asking for a little help to identify this song from the 80s that I have on a mixed tape from back then but don´t know what it is. It´s a radio recording from some sort of Friday night disco mix etc. A friend of mine have suggested Erasure, because the singer has what sounds to be his voice, but so far I haven´t been able to Google it out via that or parts from the lyrics. The logical title would be "nevermore" but that hasen´t helped me either. So, if you recogize this chorus, please let me know. // Peter
they say nevermore but (a-a-aaah)
they say nevermore but (a-a-aaah)
they say nevermore but I´m not sure
I can feel you are here before --- Not sure about this line
they say nevermore but (a-a-aaah)
they say nevermore but (a-a-aaah)
they say nevermore but I´m not sure
oh please give me the sign I´m waiting for
the /......../ is falling down
the /......../ is falling down
they say nevermore but (a-a-aaah)
they say nevermore but (a-a-aaah)
they say nevermore but I´m not sure
Oh please give me the sign I´m waiting for
There´s no more music pouring (?) through these concert halls --- Not sure about this line
/..................................................................................../ --- Definitely not sure from here on etc

Well, since this is far down by now I´m asking again, so to put this thread back close to the top of the list. :-)

Hi. Sorry I didn't find out who it is but I found the lyrics. And it is called Nevermore. This was the link.

Nevermore
ÂÂ
I'm sitting by the fire drinking wine
Staring at your portrait all the time
I try to fade away
I can hear your voice fly past my bedroom door
I can hear the rustling of the skirt you wore
I whisper nevermore
Before you came the objects weren't for me
You dressed them up in names and meanings I could see
They're all undressed again
I-ah walk through the pouring rain
I walk the hills alone again
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I'm not sure
I could feel you were here before
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I'm not sure
Oh please give me the sign I am waiting for
Cause I am falling down
Cause I am falling down
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I'm not sure
Oh please give me the sign I am waiting for
There's no more music pouring through these castle halls
Without your light it is so cold between these walls
You said: "Don't be afraid"
But I-ah walk through the pouring rain
I walk the hills alone again
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I'm not sure
Oh please give me the sign I am waiting for
Cause I am falling down
Cause I am falling down
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I'm not sure
Oh please give me the sign I am waiting for
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I'm not sure
I could feel you were here before
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I-ah-ah
They say nevermore but I'm not sure
Oh please give me the sign I am waiting for
Give me the sign I am waiting for
Give me the sign I am waiting for
