Subject: who sings this 80's song?
Written By: Lost on 09/10/04 at 11:36 am
Hi, I am trying to find out the author of the lyrics below below, please if anyone knows the artist I will be forever grateful.
"I'm sentimental I found a gentle lover ever come in my way,
the continental experimental aggitate by love all day,
let the champagne go around, my defences slowing down,
baby see I am under fire he is switching my desire,
can't you see I am under fire, living his desire, often in my hunger higher
he got me under fire"
This is part of the song, I assumed the name would be "under fire" but no luck finding
the artist or band, if any hardcore 80's fan spot it please help.
many thanks.

I have the song as mp3 but got it in Peru and the name of the artist is Jackie and the song is supposed to be "down fire" but I can't find it with that info. I assume that it's a typo and I would like to have a better copy of it. I can email it to you if you want to listen.

This song just calls "Under the Fire", performed by Jackie, from 1980. It was a hit in Peru ;)

Hi
The song you are looking for is from South African top band CLOUT and is entitled "UNDER FIRE".
It was released in October 1979 and reached #15 in the German Top 75 as well as #19 in South Africa.
Here are the lyrics to this great track:
UNDER FIRE - Clout
I'm sentimental
I found a gentle
Lover ever coming my way
A continental, experimental
Acting of love I obey
Get the champagne (Going down)
My defences (Slowing down)
Baby, see I'm under fire
He's reaching my desire
Oooooooooh
Can't you see I'm under fire
Never hears desire
Offering my heart on fire
You get me under, under, under, under
Fire, fire
Fire, fire
I'm in a safe seat
I never meant him to come along and tear me apart
While you were waiting and hesitating
Another man invaded my heart
I resisted (Go away)
He insisted (So you say)
Baby, now I'm under fire
He's reaching my desire
Oooooooooh
Can't you see I'm under fire
Never hears desire
Offering my heart on fire
You get me under fire
Get the champagne (Go-ooo-ing down)
My defences (Slowing down)
Baby, see I'm under fire
He's reaching my desire
Oooooooooh
Can't you see I'm under fire
Never hears desire
Offering my heart on fire
You get me under, under, under, under
Fire, fire
Fire, fire
Fire, fire
Fire, fire
Fire, fire
Fire, fire
Fire, fire
Don't hesitate to contact me if you need more info on CLOUT.
