http://Hello all, I am trying to find a song title. It came out in the 90's and it was about this guy losing his girlfriend, i know all songs are about losing someone but this one had a chinese name and if i remember correctly most of the lyrics where in chinese. Shuatakie or something. It is a real nice slow ballad and would like to hear it again if anyone has a clue.
Thank you,
Heather

The song you're thinking of is called Sukiyaki. (Japanese title) Not sure of the band who did the 90s version, but it has also been done by Kyu Sakamoto (original in Japanese) in the 60s and A Taste of Honey (the English version) in the early 80s.

The 90s version was done by a group called 4P.M. (The P.M. stood for "Positive Music"; they turned out to be a one-hit wonder with that song.)

Some trivia about "Sukiyaki" at http://www.japanorama.com/kyuchan.html.
Make fun of it all you want, but it's one hell of a haunting song in Japanese...some real pathos and longing coming through in the singer's voice. While the English knock-off lyrics (which have almost no relation to the Japanese) are sad too, the English versions don't come close to capturing the grief-stricken sound of the Japanese version.
