Subject: 1976 - need artist/title

Written By: KarenD561 on 04/10/04 at 01:38 a.m.

can anyone identify this song title and who sang it?  It was played for a very short time on radio in Los Angeles around 1976.

The words were actually SPOKEN rather than sung, by a Mexican male, but speaking in English.

It was an extremely emotional song and in fact was banned from radio play after awhile due to the intense despair evident in the words and music; i heard it was blamed for some suicides.

Some of the lyrics included "and you can't go on", "and you're there inside your head", "no No NO!!!!"

The closest I've been able to remember the artist name is something like Richard Castaneda, or I could be way off and who knows where I'm getting that name.  Thanks for any help.
