Subject: Anyone know the artist?
Written By: JessiesGirl on 03/19/04 at 11:55 a.m.
My husband and I were listening to an old tape from the early 80's. The kind that was taped by holding one of those old tape recorders up to the radio...yes we were geeks, but didn't everyone do that at some point?
Anyway, there was a song that I used to LOVE and I haven't heard it in 20+ years, but I could sing every word. I can only remember part of the song right now, but was wondering if anyone knows this and what artist sang it.
Sorry...the words might not be exact.
Stay another night,
help me get it right,
(something, something...)
Don't give it up baby.
and then the bridge goes something like....
I just want us all back together.
Can't you see I'm going out of my mind.
Can't you see I'm gonna need you forever,
to show me the way to make it alright.
If I had the song with me I could be of more help. I tried searching for the lyrics, but had no luck. It sounds like it might be Paul Davis, or somebody like that.
If anyone knows or thinks they know who sang this, I would appreciate it greatly!
Thanks!

The words don't sound familiar to me, but I researched some of your lyrics and came up with this...
Robbie Patton's "Don't Give It Up"

Let me know if this helps! :)

Whoops...I guess my memory of the lyrics were a little off :-[
I cannot believe that you found it! I searched for a week.
What a GREAT site that is!
Thanks again so much for taking the time to look.
