Subject: Looking for a Cartoon Song Title
Written By: ARTS IIIe on 03/09/04 at 12:04 a.m.
A friend was singing a song from a cartoon the other day and we got into a debate over if it was a real song that the cartoon used or was it only from the cartoon. The song was sung by a character in a 60's or early 70's cartoon.
It goes somthing like this: "Im searchin' for a ba-by bum-bul Bee"
The character was one of those looney tune goofy characters with a voice much like Goofy of Disney fame.
The tune sounded very familiar but alas I could not place it, perhaps I'd too heard it during a cartoon and just thought it was from somewhere else.
Any Ideas?

Well, I was performing one last desperate search while typing this post and found the song. It's a childrens song titled, oddly enough, "Baby Bumblebee" and of course the version I was looking for was sung by a disney character.... Figured I'd go ahead and post this anyway since I went to all the trouble of registering and all...
Later.

TUT TUT...
The song you mentioned WAS part of the Looney toonsMerry melodies/ Warner cartoon when the Buzzard/vulture tried to find a babby be to take home with him and he sang that verse as he flew looking for him...when he also spotted Bugs Bunny to take him to eat...Can't remember WHY Disney would record it unless Warners borrowed the idea....
The melody
it must've also been a country ditty..played whenever someone SLOOOWW thinking would walk, taking their time

That makes me think of...
Im bringing home a baby bumble bee,
wont' my mommy be so proud of me,
I'm bringing home a baby bumble bee,
Ouch! It stung me!
I'm squishing up a baby bumble bee,
wont' my mommy be so proud of me,
I'm squishing up a baby bumble bee,
ew! It's all over me!
I'm licking up a baby bumble bee,
wont' my mommy be so proud of me,
I'm licking up a baby bumble bee,
Look mommy! All clean
