Subject: Burger King Commercial Mystery Song
Written By: Amethyst on 02/10/04 at 01:06 p.m.
In a Burger King commercial as recent as 6 months ago I heard a clip from a song that sounds like it might have been from the 70's. The lyrics are something like...
"Hello, my true love
How 'bout a kiss for me?
Ahhhhhh yeah!
(something something-hmmmm.)"
lol I know that's terrible, but it's all I can undestand. I wish I could make an audio file of me humming it. Anyway I've searched for all variations of those lyrics on google and I just can't seem to find who or what this song is. It's driving me crazy because the voice and the style are so familiar it has to be a classic! Thanks if you can help me, email me at mooncityminx@yahoo.com

Wasn't it maybe Barry White or at least someone trying to sound like him? I can't really remember the commercial but I seem to remember his deeeeeep voice talking seductively about burgers or something.. ::)

Could be, it sounds sort of like him to me, but I don't know. I'll look over his lyrics that I can find.

Strawberry Letter 23 - The Brothers Johnson
Hello, my love
I heard a kiss from you
Red magic satin playing near, too
All through the morning rain
I gaze - the sun doesn't shine -
Rainbows and waterfalls run through my mind
In the garden - I see west
Purple shower, bells and tea
Orange birds and river cousins dressed in green
Pretty music I hear - so happy
And loud - blue flower echo
From a cherry cloud
Feel sunshine sparkle pink and blue
Playgrounds will laugh
if you try to ask
Is it cool?, is it cool?
If you arrive and don't see me
I'm going to be with my baby
I am free - flying in her arms, over the sea
Stained window, yellow candy screen
See speakers of kite - with velvet roses diggin' freedom flight
A present from you - Strawberry letter 22
The music plays, I sit in for a few
Ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...
A present from you - Strawberry letter 22
The music plays, I sit in for a few
Ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...ooh...

Sorry I have a correction to make.
The Brothers Johnson had their cover of SL 23 as a hit, but it was written by Shuggie Otis. I am so thrilled that I stumbled onto him as an artist. I've been listening to samples of his music on the internet and he is amazing! If you don't know who he is, I suggest you look him up. Thanks for the help, guys!
