Subject: Mid 80's John Wayne rap parody song

Written By: Stevie B. on 01/22/04 at 02:19 p.m.

Does anybody remember a song that came out circa 1985. It was a rap parody about the Reagan administration and it was sung by a white artist who imitated John Wayne throughout the whole song. The chorus went,"Duh ha ha! ha! Duh ha! ha! ha! ha! haaa!" Thanks! Sincerely,Steve.

I remember the title of the song. It was called "The Rapping Duke". But I still cannot remember the name of the artist.  :(      Sincerely,Steve.

According to what I could find online, it was John Wayne himself that did it.  :o

The performer was Shawn Brown. I loved this song and still have it on the original tape. You can still get it, check it out!

Of related '80s novelty interest:

The Beat Farmers: The California Kid

Dr. Demento used play this one in the mid-80s.  I wanted to post the lyrics, but the site won't link to 'em.

The guy sings in a deep western drawl, IIRC
"Threw what was left of my horse in a ditch,
walked into a SALoon they called The Busted Hitch,
I ordered up a whiskey, he asked me for my bread, I paid him four bits and then I PUMPED HIM FULL OF LEAD!

refrain
I got my Colt-45 right by my side!
Oh, I'm the California Kid, I hope you're quite prepared to die.

other verses follow a similar theme!
Good one for the NRA! ;D
