All right, look, I know it's great fun to make fun of those stuffy pompous songwriters who think they're being oh so clever with their obscure and overly arty lyrics... But people, IF you're going to make fun, and submit scathing comments about nonsensical lyrics to someone's site, isn't it worth making sure that the line or verse you're making fun of actually says what you think it says?
Examples, right - just a few. There's a guy mocking Jeff Wayne's "Eve of the War" from "War of the Worlds". He points to the line that he says says "the chances of elephants coming from Mars are a million to one", and points out that elephants come from Africa or India, ho ho isn't he clever? The problem is that the line says, "the chances of ANYTHING coming from Mars" - not elephants. So really he just made himself look a bit daft.
Then there's the one who lays into Enya for "one flag, one fall, one falter", in "Book of Days". "What do flags have to do with anything", the contributor asks. Well, "flag" in this case means to tire or fall behind - as in fall, or falter.
Please, if you're going to do clever - and there're plenty of stupid lyrics out there which badly need mocking (Carly Simon, please stand up) - at least make sure you've got them right before you start holding forth. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it isn't YOU who's misunderstood it.

I also found a lot of the lyrics people at that site were having a dig at were completely wrong to start with, so i never bothered to go back!
