Subject: AmiRighters, the Vampire slayers?
Thereīs a new punchline competition over at my fav sf-parody site and I think itīs just the right type of thing for others here too, so Iīm letting you know...
Itīs a blank cartoon to be drawn later based on the winning entry. The setup is that it has to be a joke about the musical episode of Buffy the vampire slayer. Preferably about what song should have been in that wasnīt and who should have sung it. (Check out the current top 10 on the bottom of the page and youīll get the hang of it):

I've already given 'em a couple of suggestions (but I don't think they got the "Willow, Tit Willow" gag)
The whole "Fraud of the Rings" site is superb.

John Cook, the cartoonist, is a HUGE fan of LotR. Thereīs already been two punchline competitions based on scenes from trailers for the upcoming third movie!
As for the judges and the top 10 punchlines: Yes, the average judge over there is much younger than the average AmiRighter, about 15 I think, so some puns that you and I would LOL at are doomed to not make it to the top 10 Iīm afraid. Though everything that gets three votes or more during the week a competition lasts can in theory make it to top position on a page list.
And the punchline (or like this week: joke) that finally gets drawn is picked from within the top 100, not automatically the one judged as #1. John Cook (heīs around 30, from Australia, a PC-technician/programmer and like Bud Grace (Ernie) a former university physicis graduate) is reserving the right to have the final word on that account, as this cartoon actually gets printed in a couple of papers and heīs trying to make a living out of it even though it hasenīt been successfully syndicated yet.
Iīve been around there for like 5 years. It wasnīt until early this spring when I found AmiRight that I really started to seriously drift towards writing whole parody songs rather than fast parody punchlines. Still love that site too though. :-)

I found the site originally on the official LOTR website - I thought that if they were linking to it, it must be good (and it is :-)) - that was a few weeks ago, rather than years.
