Subject: Who can identify this Copacabana parody?
Written By: tttar on 10/01/03 at 06:37 p.m.
Has anyone heard of an early to mid-80s parody of Barry Manilow's 1978 Copacabana? This was a different version from those already listed on this site.
I remember it starting "My name is Barry, sing like a fairy" and all I remember from the rest is "I've got a nose shaped just like a banana," and the female voices singing "banaaa-ana..." during the instrumental bridge.
Who did that song, what label, and what was the exact title?
If you don't know, can you add a few lyrics you remember from it? I'm surprised that so many "experts" here are stumped by this one! ;-)
(Sorry that the lyrics I remember weren't exactly politically correct, but shoot, that's how they went! Don't look at me, I didn't write them!)
