Subject: 10 most video friendly parody authors
Which 10 parody writers on amiright do you think have written the most video-friendly songs? In other words, if they had the resources to make a DVD filled with music videos of this author's songs, whose would you most like to have? my picks are:
claude prez, merry and pippin, spaff.com, steve cavanagh, jeff reuben, syncronos, lebeiw15, my name is kenny, Jared Lerner, phil alexander
10. Jared Lerner (for writing good quality parodies of new songs with videos people would know)
9. My Name is Kenny (cleaning out my office would make a great video)
8. Jeff Rueben (i think i got to pee now has lots of potential)
7. Lebeiw15 (some of the random stuff would be good)
6. Syncronos (freshman rhapsody, some other stuff)
5. Phil (see lebiew)
4. steven cavanagh (star wars =great special effects)
3. Spaff.com (a lot of good story songs and robert lund IMO is a very good singer
2. the hobbits (i'm getting tired but they've got a lot i think would be good for videos)
1. Clause Prez (i'm not sure that he's written anything that wouldn't be a great video )
honorable mentions : both florios as individuals, royce miller, blo-town, michael pacholek (for sesamian rhapsody alone) , bob gomez, darkjon. There's probably others that i forgot hopefully they'll make it into someone else's list

Thank you TD! :D
Hmm, this requires some thought! ???
Subject: Re: 10 most video friendly parody authors
Thanks Tone-Def, I'm glad you can envision some of my parodies as actual music videos. Any of them you thought stuck out in particular?
I could see a lot of S.T.G.'s, Spaff.com's, Jeff Reuben's, and Tone-Def's parodies as videos (just a variety of random songs...)
Subject: Re: 10 most video friendly parody authors
Yeah, I reckon Latex Toi and Lubricated would make a pretty good couple of videos...
Taj Majal Tundoori would be pretty easy to make: just get some CCTV footage from pretty much any Indian restaurant ;-)
I'd love to see some of Steve Cavanagh's star wars/LOTR stuff set to video, too
And do you think we could persuade Britney to appear on my "I Hate Britney Spears" vid?
"Welcome to Macdonalds" would probably make quite a fun video, too
There's got to be more, but time's running out...

Thanks to everyone who listed me! I've actually thought about videos for certain songs (I've Got To Pee Now, Poop Scoop Boogie, Tailgater, Jelly Went Out To Tailgate in particular). I'm sure I could do one for Lazy (Crazy...Britney Spears), although I'd have to go shopping for some Britney clothes, and down enough beers to put them on. Any of the tailgate songs could be taped at a tailgate before a Maryland game this year, and be pretty fun. If I ever do it, I'll be sure to post a link (if I can get it in a computer format somehow).
Sorry Rice...I thought of Free Parking, but a four minute taping of a Monopoly game for Free Parking didn't seem to work too well ;D
I'll put my list of authors together in the next couple days.
Phil: I'll volunteer to dress as Britney for your video

I have been tempted to do a parody music video to "McFlurry"
I got the same type of hat Wes Scantlin has accompanied with McDonald's uniform, and a blonde wig.

Of course ;D
Subject: Re: 10 most video friendly parody authors
Doing videos would be great - I'd love to shoot one for "Crap (Ode to a Garage Sale)" and "99 Great Cartoons"
Subject: Re: 10 most video friendly parody authors
Thanks Tone-Def. I guess I could see some of my songs on videos, like "Benny From Bangkok" and "Buy Me A Liver". Perhaps maybe "Small Shack With Some Rice", but Weird Al's Amish Paradise is a tough act to follow. :D 8) :-/

I have thought about in the past about what videos would accompany my work......
I think the video for "I always think that santa is watching me" would be amazing
I could probably pull out good videos for "all I wanna do is be a nun", "back in the airports bar", Episode 2 (see Yoda fight), I cant walk around you, I really cant dance, Ive got a broken down car, learn to drive, peeing in a bottle, put down the seat, sleep walking, stuck on the southern state, and Stoolie Louie......
I probably realy enjoy doing a video for "its just irrational/the pi song" though.....

I think:
Syncronos
Jeff Reuben
Royce
Phil
Rice & Watt
Mer & Pip
S.T.G.
Billy Florio
Mike Florio
Guy DiRito
(Honorable mentions to Claude Prez, Spaff.com)

Theres a lot I could do videos for...
just to name a few:
"Moronic," "3 thousand miles," "Been caught dealing," "I really dont like Bio," and "This shirt is so tight(it makes me look gay)" upon a few others perhaps...

Weird Al's Amish Paradise is one of the all-time best parody videos ever... if not THE best (though I must admit, The Saga Begins video is damn near perfect... and Fat is hilarious)

Hmmm... a lot of us seems to have this in common, thinking about what a parody song video would look like. I´m not saying I´m doing it all the time, cos I don´t (but I probably will from now on :-) , though these ones comes to mind:
They´re on sale now, in my pet shop:
http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/marilynmanson4.shtml
I remember thinking/wishing for Lord of the Rings type special effects...
Our chef is Neelix:

The original video is a classic, right? Couldn´t help thinking about it, but in a kitchen-in-chaos way...
If you eat that chocholate your bum will be bigger:

This was one of my first parodies here on AmIRight and went down pretty unnoticed, but not only does it hold the World Record for the number of times the word "bum" has been used in a song (parody or other, I´m sure of it ;-) I definitely had a Sir Mix-a-Lot "Baby´s got back"-style video in mind when I wrote it. :-)
