Subject: Got another mystery song!
So far I got 3 out of the 5 lyrics I've posted! Not bad:) This is a female singer and some of the lyrics I could not understand so I put .... in between sentences I could. "One eye on the winter...we need a songbird to keep children from feezing...we'll be wide awake...radiation over red square...feel the freezing in the soviet snow, one eye on the winter...soviets know." Thanks for replys!

All I could find was this, it doesn't have all of your lyrics in it but alot of them match up
Soviet Snow
Shona Laing
One eye on the winter
Did I conjure up that cold
I’ve got friends in the far north
And should’ve had that mystery solved
Are we wide awake? Is the world aware?
Radiation over red square
Creeping on to cross roman roads
Fear of freezing in the soviet snow
One eye on the winter
Oh there’s just a hint of soviet snow
We need something to keep the chill
From freezing our own free will
We’re teasing at war like children
Love is the one solution
Seeing ourselves inside
Our enemies’ need for shelter
Same winter wind that’s blowing
Deep down inside we know
We’ve all got one eye on the winter
We need something to keep the chill...
That we’re wide awake...

This is it!! Thank -you:) I didn't have all the lyrics because I couldn't understand all that was said. I've already e-mailed you all the artists I have on 80 minute cd's, now I'll send you all the ones with 40 minutes (2 artists on each cd) so I can make you another! Who is Shone Laing? She is not in any of my Billboard books. Was she the lead singer for a group? Was this her only song to make the airwaves?

Shona Laing is from New Zealand. Her song "(Glad I'm) Not A Kennedy" made the Australian Top 10 in 1987. I'm not sure whether it got much airplay in the US though. Both Not A Kennedy and Soviet Snow are on her 1987 album "South". I have it on LP & mp3. "Drive Baby Drive" and "Your Reputation" are also two other good songs off that album.
