Tomorrow, I have "A Twister Came (and it Took My Trailer)" to Chubby Checker's "Let's Twist Again."   Unfortunately, as soon as I hit the submit button, I realized that in the last line, the words "and it took" weren't nearly as funny as "but I saved" would have been.  (Kicking myself.)  If any of you take a looksee, tomorrow,  you'll see what I mean.

YIPPIE! I have Number 3 on my list of Parody-ing all of the songs on Billy Joel's 1st Greatest Hits album with songs about fast food-- "McDonalds Waiter," to the tune of "The Entertainer." Incidentally, The Entertainer was one of the hardest songs I've had to parody, with it's 2 rhymes in one line thing going on....maybe I'll get more than my average 6 votes......

After reading that the AmiRight awards would be next month, I realized that I had to get moving on my Billy Joel album.
So....tommorow I should have "The Whopper," a parody of "The Stranger." That's 6/11, halfway there!(Although I still have that blasted 'Scenes from an Italian Resetraunt')

Wow....5 songs in 3 days.....this is centaintly a different wdh.....

When I was writing Scenes From an Italian Restaurant, it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be.  Sure, it took about an hour to write but it was actually pretty easy.  The only problems I ran into were pacing problems.  Other than that it flowed along pretty well and I was surprised that I acutally wrote the whole thing in one sitting.

Congratulations on taking on the Billy Joel Greatest Hits album... you're doing a good job so far.

No prob.  Remember, votes don't matter. ;) Whether you like the song or not and are satisfied matters.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!
I've finally done it. Just submitted:
“Scenes from a Greasy Burger Joint”
a parody of “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” by Billy Joel

This is probably so far my favorite parody on my album of Fast-Food related parodies off Billy Joel's first greatest hits album. It took forever to write, but I'm really proud of the pacing and rhyming I put into it. I hope most of you take the time to read and vote on it, because as I said I'm very proud of the song.

It puts a new take on parody-writing- It's written as a play, with the scene playing out and different characters singing. Also, in parenthesis is some narroration, that does not actually have any relation to the former song, but just helps you picture the scene, so don't be thinking, "Hey, those words have nothing to do with the original song!"

EDIT: WOW, I must have no life, I'm gonna have hopefully 3 of the Billy Joel songs today. "Drive-Thru's in my Car," just submitted, parody of "Just the Way you Are," a very tough song to parody.

Hope ya'll take the time to vote on them, especially Scenes from a Greasy Burger Joint. I'll post links when they're up.

On Monday, look for "The Game of Golf" parody of "The Game of Love" by Santana featuring Michelle Branch, and "Cold Meat" parody of "Hold Me" by Fleetwood Mac (the second one sounds lame I know, it's about lunch meats and cold cuts ::) ;D)

About time we have a thread to plug our new parodies.  :)

The latest parody that I submitted is called "Getting Saddam" and is a parody of Judas Priest's "Breaking the Law." I honestly think it's gonna be huge!

I'm planning on writing another one after this post. But I can't think of what song I want to parody next.

I've got three new parodies thriving out there on the black market.  I think you'll enjoy all of them very much:

"We Will Wok You" to Queen's We Will Rock You
http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/queen103.shtml

'The Monopoly Song' to Ludacris' Move B*tch
(# 10 on AmiRight)
http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/ludacris14.shtml

"Missin' Depends Yo" to Kelly Clarkson's Miss Independant
http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/kellyclarkson8.shtml

Enjoy them while you can.  Life is shorter than you think it is.  Go, get out there.  Live a little.  Buy a Toyota.  Go bungee jumping with your friend Marv.  Just for the heck of it.  The rewards will be plenty.

I've been copping some flak here for doing too much Star Wars, so I just spent 20 min knocking up "Escape". To the "Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain" song, it's a story about where alcohol and karaoke can take you...
