Subject: "Return to Pooh Corner" by Loggins and Messina
I always thought that this song was originally from the early 90s, when Kenny Loggins did the duet with Amy Grant. But tonight I heard a different version for the first time on a light rock station that mainly plays 60s and 70s, some early 80s. Can someone tell me when this song is orginally from? I was just curious because I never knew it was that old.
Oh, and for the record, I hate the song. ::) :P

Hi John
My dad tells me it's from 1972 (or whatever the date of the first album is.. my primary source is down at the moment). It was earlier recorded by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

lebeiw15, I agree that the 90's version sucked, especially with the Amy Grant addition. This version was like repainting the Mona Lisa in orange paint on black velvet.
However, the original Pooh Corner was a cute song meant for young children (and their parents). It had a great vibe and flow to it, as opposed to the remake which was terrible.

You will find the original "House At Pooh Corner" on Loggins & Messina's (Jim Messina of Poco) "Sittin' In" (1972) :)
