Subject: Parody choruses

Which is generally preferred?  Conserving bandwidth by substituting "(chorus)" for the repeated choruses in a longish parody OR typing them out so that anyone playing or humming the original to rate pacing won't have to scroll up or try to remember the alternate lyrics.

I usually type "Chorus".  Sometimes when a song has repeated verses we do "chorus 1, chorus 2" etc.  It's your preference, I believe either is fine.

Sometimes one, sometimes t'other - though I'll never have the same chorus repeated... if there is iteration, I'll usually do it as

(Chorus x2)

trust me, you're not saving much bandwidth by typing (chorus) instead of typing it out.. so you can really do whichever you prefer..

though if the majority of the song is a repeated chorus, it may be better to type it out.. but you should use your best judgement

A question that I have wondered about.

Sometimes Merry and I like to change the choruses subtlely (or unsubtlely as the case may be) so it pays to read them  ;D

I personally like to type out my churuses....it helps anyone singing or humming, so I do it, but I just copy and paste from the origional...

I agree with Peregrin that making changes to the chorus can be an effective tool in a song parody.

It is good to see that Peregrin is now registered!  Of course, I immediately looked up the gender and was not surprised that it was left blank.
