Aw, thanks Merry - does this mean I've got to listen to Elton John, as I don't know the original at all?
As for my latest offering, I'm kind of surprised: I came up with a new idea while in the car driving in this morning (one I'm quite pleased with, too: Time It Is A-Changing to the tune of Dylan's "Times They Are A-Changing"), and it's there already.. Chuck must have got out of bed VERY early this morning (or had a very late night last night :-))

It's a point of principle: I usually have to be dragged kicking and screaming into a room if EJ is on the stereo... (I've actually got the "Too Low for Zero" album somewhere, but it ain't been listened to for at least fifteen years)

I'm Back
after dossing about in foreign countries for the last month i've returned. so far today i've submitted 4 and I have a few more to come over the next week. todays are
"Show my Bum" - Robbie Williams' Come Undone, about z-list celebrities
"The Turkey Song" - Spitting Images' Chicken Song, a seasonally misplaced tune
"Arsenal fan blues" - ?'s Worried Man Blues, a football song
"TV Shows from the 80's" - Stevie wonder and Paul McCartneys ebony and ivory, dunno what thats about
8)
Subject: Re: Upcoming parodies
"Arsenal Fan Blues"???? I suppose coming runner-up to Man U was a bit of a blow to the old ego, but you still won the FA Cup, remember? West Ham Fan Blues might have been more appropriate ;-)
Only joking... my MD is an Arsenal fan, and he got really rather pissed off with the way they played, especially against Bolton
My latest two offerings The Ash Tray to the tune of "The Ash Grove"... I'll be surprised if many people vote for this as it ain't the world's most well-known tune (unless you're Welsh, of course); and Old Age to "Cocaine"
I have one parody in me bursting to get out at the moment: a real "I hate quiddich" rant... got a load of words and rhymes so far, but can't think of a tune to set it to :-(

Tomorrow, if the fates are willing, you should see "I Guess That's Why They Call Them The Jews" to the tune of "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues" by Elton John.
It's nice, we swear ;)

I fought through horrible allergies and finished my www.homestarrunner.com tribute which should be up tomorrow. I'm probably going to continue slow production due to allergies/laziness

I've been sitting in airport departure lounges writing "Piggy, Miss Piggy" to "Willow, Tit Willow", and "Bell-Bottomed Flares" to the tune of "Fat-Bottomed Girls"... but I forgot to bring the laptop with me, so it's going to be tomorrow before they get submitted. D'Oh!

I lead a sheltered existance 8) If my children aren't listening to it (and fortunately, they're not too into the boy band thing.. S Club/Pop Idol, though is a different matter), then I don't, either - I'm a Radio 4 bod rather than a music station listener.

It's from "The Mikado", by G&S - but you should get the hang of it just by reading through, the rhythm's pretty simple and it's kinda funny (sick, but funny).
