Just a thought: does anybody think they've done their best work this year? It's just that most (not all, but a large majority) of the songs I've voted on this year have been, well, a bit lacklustre and nowhere near as good as I know their authors can do. And I include myself in this, too: I don't seem to have hit the sharpness of some of last years offerings.
What do you guys think?
Phil

A post like that after I announce my latest idea...ouch! :)
I've certainly written more parodies this year than any other...finishing off ideas I've had for years, and adding new ones. I agree I haven't written my best. I'd say I had two or three that I felt really good about, then a bunch that I thought were "okay" that I just pounded out. I've also written more to newer country songs that I'm guessing people don't know as well (Big Red, Our Clothes Won't Fitcha)
I guess I'm including the end of 2002 in with "this year"

...don't take it personally: it was from browsing the recent entries, and a feeling of dissatisfaction with a lot of my recent output. Besides, you haven't posted anything this year, have you?

Didn't take it personally, just thought the timing was ironic :)
Posted my first for this year today (I also forgot that it was a new year, and I was going over most of my 2002 stuff when I wrote that). Of course, I don't think Burps Are Good is one of my best, so you can lump that in.

No, this year I definitly havent done my best parodies. I mean look, "paper boy" and "sammy Davis eyes" sucked, and "looking goofy" was alright, but Ive done better....my best one this year was "R Kellys rationalization (I beleive shes 18)" and that one was a duet with Keith Kamer! Im in a down period, i have some better ones in the works (hopefully)

Mike Armstrong's newest, "You May Be White", to the tune of "You May Be Right", should be up whenever the site is updated next. It's a "tribute" to Michael Jackson - all in fun folks, all in fun. Look for it, it's one of my favorites that I've done in a while.
