Subject: Can anyone idenify this song please

Hi,

I've got part of a song on tape which someone from school recorded for me some 20 years ago.

The tape is twisted in parts and the song can be obtained from http://www.btinternet.com/~dastardly/record.mp3

I believe it comes from around the late 60's and the style is similar to The Yardbirds, Pink Floyd, The Byrds etc

Can anyone please idenify it as it's driving me mad !!

sounds like Spinal Tap lol..um....its definitly not anything like the 60's Byrds, or Pink FLoyd..um...it seemes too, ah, hard for the Yardbirds..it seems too hard for the 60's..Id say mid to late 70's....im trying to pinpoint the voice..I cant really do it..it sounds like David St Hubbins lol..um...you know, this might even be the early 80s....damn..I dont think Ive been any help....um...damn..maybe Dio?

I managed to make out the lyric "Sinking into the well of time" and Googled for those lyrics. I got:

Happenings Ten Years Time Ago by the Yardbirds:

The lyrics match yours. Good guess on the artist, Keith ;D
