Subject: Question about a song
Written By: lunagirl on 11/30/02 at 00:27 a.m.
Anyone familiair with Grand Funk Railroad's "Bad Time (To Be In Love)"? Anyway the chorus goes like this:
I'm in love with a girl I'm talkin' about
I'm in love with a girl I can't live without
I'm in love but it feels like I'm wearin' it out
I'm in love... but I musta picked a bad time...
To be in love, a bad time to be in love
A bad time to be in love
A bad time to be in love
The thing is, throughout the song, there is no mention of why the guy feels he picked a bad time to be in love. Does this girl already have a husband or boyfriend (the most likely canidate)? Is she too young? Whatever it is, all the song ever says is that the guy doesn't want to hear about it.
Any thoughts/theories?

I think the word was out on the street that she was running around on the guy, but he didn't want to hear it...
"All the stories coming back to me,
From my friends and the people that I don't want to see.
The things you say I know just couldn't be true,
At least not until I hear them from you."
