Subject: Our songs getting more attention than we thought??
Funny thing happened yesterday, apparently my song "As long as I can see my feet" has been getting forwarded around the internet through email with my email adress on it... I've been getting emails from someone about it and stuff. Funny thing is, that parody was only voted on twice since it was up a couple weeks ago. It kinda got me thinkin that for every vote we get on a particular parody, about 10 people read it, and I bet we've all had our songs printed out even dozens of times and shown to people... so what do you think of that? I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. Any comments?

Isn't that why we post them on-line? I've had a couple of my songs turn up unexpectedly, though not from amiright so far. It puts a smile on my face to hear that a song's doing the rounds.

was your song only posted here? or did you email it to friends? email is quite effective in passing stuff around that is funny..
if I could make it easier for people to email parodies around I think I would do it in a heatbeat, since it would only increase the amount of visibilty people receive

Wouldn't an "email this parody to a friend" button be relatively easy to program, with a link back to the original page for voting...

the problem is that those types of things get abused by spammers sometimes.. though I did used to have one setup.. I think the new server doesn't allow it though, because I wasn't able to get the random name generator to work with the email thing..

What about a note at the bottom saying "Like this parody? E-mail it to your friends!!!"?

some people I know have been putting "don't copy this parody" at the bottom of their emails.. I'd have to write something a little more complicated like, "Unless otherwise stated above, feel free to email this parody to your friends"..

I have two of my parodies on a site dedicated to Fred Talbot, the weatherman from the UK. The song: Where's the Weather Man"
And the second is for an ORGY fan club site.
Song: "Kevorkian", "Name is Bill Clinton"
