What are you, the voting police? ;)

yeah, that's really weird.. I don't know what's going on with his parodies.. hope I didn't lose some datafiles or something
Subject: Re: evan l heller
I think there's a bug with parodies that are from the 60s, but were originally entered on the misc pages..

yikes.. what a mess...
turns out, that when I moved the parodies, everything was fine until I regened all the parodies (when I added the links to other authors)... so any votes that occured after the move of the 60s parodies (and after I did a database regen), weren't going to the right spot.. while I did correct it, some of the parodies that were moved, will have the wrong voting totals displayed underneath them (they will display voting results with much lower totals)..
this only applies to parodies that were in the wrong cateogy originally, but were later moved..
Evan L Heller's all stood out, because he submitted a lot of 60s parodies before there was a 60s category. (he was one of the people who campaigned for a 60s category to be added)
hopefully, I didn't end up breaking the system in a new and exciting way while correcting this issue..

this will go away once people add new votes to the parody, then the script will generate a new display file, and the proper totals will be displayed

What happened to the guy anyway? He hasn't submitted in months. I liked his stuff.

I'm guessing he lost interest in the site or writing or something.. unfortunately, I don't get to know every parody artist that well.. when I used to do this by email, I at least could get additional feedback from parody authors and such.. but with the current setup, and the volume of daily submissions, that's just not possible really..
so I don't get to communicate much with the people who submit..
