Subject: Commentary section for parodies/articles.

Written By: ChuckyG on 10/25/02 at 03:55 p.m.

in the next week or two, I'm going to try finally writing a very primative commentary function for people to leave the comments at the end of parodies.

Should I:

1) Only add commentary sections for new parodies
2) Add commentary sections for all parodies on the site (with an opt out for people who don't want one).
3) Make people ask to have a commentary section added to old parodies.

I'm thinking there are probably people who might not want a commentary section at the end of their parodies.. there will be an ability for me to remove flames and trolls, but it's not something I want to spend a lot of time doing..

I like the idea, and I wouldn't mind having a comment section on the bottom of all of mine (old and new).. the more feedback, the better...

2) Add commentary sections for all parodies on the site (with an opt out for people who don't want one).

Choice is always good, IMO.

Those who want one will be pleased and those who don't just opt out. Easy. Right?

Nice one, Chucky!  I'd probably tend towards 3) rather than 2) (i.e. opt-in rather than opt-out), even though I like the idea of comments on mine.

I like the idea, and agree, the more the better.  Wouldn't mind a commentary section at the bottom of all of mine as well (old and new)

Count me in as well, I've always wanted to see what other people thought of my parodies. However, you should make a maximum of 25 words per response, (or something like that), because I don't think hundreds of long paragraphs would make the site look too clean, know what I mean? Not to say that would happen, but comments should be short and sweet anyway. I was wondering when you were gonna get around to this though, its a great idea!

I would go with 2 as well.  I never did understand why I get voted so low when I thought they were funny, not to mention the pacing is there.  Including the syllables at times, not rap songs all the time though.
