You're too kind - sorry I didn't reply earlier, but I've been in prison (again). It's kind of a true song, and I think all the best and funniest songs have a vein of truth in them
No, I didn't realize it was a Hall & Oates song - I've only really noticed the Paul Young version.
Thanks again - appreciation is always appreciated ;-)

No, I write software for biometric recognition of prison visitors (see http://www.photobase.co.uk/cathtml/highsecurity.htm, for example), so I'm often behind bars, though at least I have a get out of jail free card ;-)
So far I've been in prisons in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and South Africa. The US have been really slow on the uptake, but the Australians may well be taking it on soon: however, I doubt I'll be heading off down under: it makes South Africa seem positively close...

I've had dealings with Tyco in the past, though I guess they're not doing too well at the moment ;-) Fire control: you mean the sprinkler systems, or the alarm/notification software?

I worked on the alarm/notification software.. let's just say it wasn't the best looking software I'd ever seen
