Subject: RESPECT--help!
Somebody please help me out here--
There's a lyric in Aretha Franklin's "RESPECT" that's commonly misheard as "Take out the TCP" or "Take care, TCB," (which is what's printed on this website). However, I could have sworn that the correct lyric was "Take care of pleasing me," which actually makes sense. I just looked up a ton of Aretha-related websites, and they all have either the "TCP" or "TCB" lyric listed. So what's right? And what would "TCP" or "TCB" even mean??
Subject: Re: RESPECT--help!
I've always thought it was "TCB," which means "takin' care of business."
Subject: Re: RESPECT--help!
The lyric is Taking Care TCB, standing for Taking Care Of Business. I think I answered this one thread previous.

TCP is an antiseptic (TriCloroPhenol) ;D

Surely you've heard of TCP, I'm sure it's not that old
As for what it stands for, I think I was told once in chemistry and I have a good memory for useless information ;D

I meant what it stood for! I'm not an idiot you know!!! :P
I remember more useless things like "S" being the 8th most used letter in the alphabet!

...I could have sworn it was Transmission Control Protocol - Aretha Franklin must be having problems with her internet connection ;-)

Isn't that a bit tautologous? "Taking Care Taking Care of Business".... ah well
