Subject: Parodies You Wish More People Would Look At
OK, so we all write bad parodies. But we all have at least a couple of parodies which we wish had gotten some more votes. Of mine, I wish that more people would look at "End of the Innocence" (Shawshank Redemption), because it was a hard song to parody and I'm happy with it, and "Boys of Summer" (Baseball Strike). By the way, "Welcome to McDonald's" hit #1 on the monthly voting! Woohoo!

I wish "You Are The Weakest Link", "Road Trip" & "Foodylicious" would've gotten enough votes to make the Top 50...I also wish "The Survivor Song", "Eggroll", "Pinto Beans", and "3 PCs and 1 E-Bay" would have gotten more votes.

I wish "Everyday A*sholes" would have gotten many more votes; Its my favorite parody.
Im a little depressed, nnone of my parodies are on the new top 100 overall :'(
Subject: Re: Parodies You Wish More People Would Look At
"Drops of Mountain Dew" is on each of the top 100 lists.. :)
My parody "Driven" only had two votes.. :-/ One of them was my sister.. :-/
Also "Dine" (parody of "Shine by Collective Soul, even though it's not that great), I thought "Little Misheard Songs" (parody of "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong") was good, but it only has six... "Clean My Drain" has four, "Download an Mp3" has five. I'm not complaining, I just thought they were some of my better ones and wish they were viewed more.

That sounds cool. I have already announced that I would do a collaborative parody (see the post about it in this forum), so maybe that'll keep me busier. btw, wanna contribute to my collaborative parody (read about it b4 you answer)?
Subject: Re: Parodies You Wish More People Would Look At
more than likely i will...anything to boost my name a little bit more lol

Enough talk about the lack of voting for people's songs. Every one who responded to the post so far, I honestly voted for at least one of the parodies which they mentioned. Return the favor, and help the site at the same time!

Don't Know my Calculus (parody of I Know my Calculus): the day I put it up, 3 people gave it a five (or some joker randomly gave it three 5s). I don't know which it was, because nobody else has looked at it since. I do think it's pretty funny. Same idea with No Fast Food (Parody of No Scrubs). And nobody's voted on I Enjoy Being a Xorn - I guess nobody's into Nethack, but it's one of my favorites.
Subject: Re: Parodies You Wish More People Would Look At
I wrote a Christmas parody of Bring the Noise, and it really is one of the best I've ever written. But it only got two votes originally, and one more very recently (whoever it was gave it a 5-5-5, so thank you whoever you are).

alright Mike, I read all your songs, and I tryed voting for the ones I knew, but it told me I have already voted for most of them..lol.
Frankly your best songs in my opinion are "Welcome to Mcdonalds" and "Boys of summer". (Actully boys of summer inspired me to write "Striking is the end of baseball")

Parodies I would like to have had more interest? I think I need to limit myself ;-)
First my Thin Lizzy "Out in the Fields" parody - one of my small band of not-really-funny ones with a message (about the pathetic and self-serving use of pseudo-science in the genetically modified organism debate). I love the original, and it's taken me a while to write a parody to it which is worthy of it:
http://amiright.com/parody/80s/garymoorethinlizzy0.shtml
Next possibly my favourite of my parodies so far: "Crap" to the tune of "Bad"
http://amiright.com/parody/90s/michaeljackson2.shtml
The closest any song of mine has come to being autobiographical: "Big Bills" to the tune of "Big Balls" by AC/DC
http://amiright.com/parody/70s/acdc3.shtml
I would have liked more interest in my Iron Maiden parodies, but I understand that not everybody reckons Maiden to be rock gods, knowing all their lyrics backwards ;-)
"Tasteless Beers" to the tune of "Wasted Years"
http://amiright.com/parody/80s/ironmaiden1.shtml
and "Ann Widdecombe" to the tune of "The Wicker Man"
http://amiright.com/parody/2000s/ironmaiden0.shtml
...I'm going to try an MP3 of the latter, as the original devocalized quite cleanly
I could probably go on till you're all asleep, so I'd better leave it there ;-)

Glad I could inspire you, Billy, and frankly, I am a fan of your "Good Riddance" parody. I also respect the fact you tried "Captain Jack." Not an easy song to parody.

I like the "Bad" parody, Phil.

All of mine.
Some are bad, but some are okay.

Now that I've learned how to insert urls into my posts, I have finally managed to insert the urls to all my parodies that I listed in my last post in this topic.
