Subject: Song Title/Artist Request

Written By: chewy_26 on 08/25/02 at 08:48 p.m.

Hey

I'm looking for the artist/title to a song.  I think its from the early 80's.  The only lyrics I have to go on is.  "Then they sent me away to a place thats so logical."  and I think the chorus has "Please tell me who I am" in it.  I've searched everywhere with no luck.  Please help.  Thanks.

Yep, definately "The Logical Song" by Supertramp!!

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily,
joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,
logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
clinical, intellectual, cynical.

There are times when all the world's asleep,
The questions run too deep for such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd but please tell me who I am

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
liberal, fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respectable, presentable, a vegetable!

At night, when all the world's asleep,
The questions run so deep for such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd but please tell me who I am

Unfortunately, we had to make do with a godawful (excuse my French) version of The Logical Song by Scooter.

31st March 1979 - Supertramp - The Logical Song - #7
16th June 2002 - Scooter - The Logical Song - #2
That is just not right...

I can't stand any of Scooters songs - have you heard the version of 'Rebel Yell'? How could they slaughter such a song!

edited because I was wrong, not peter Gunn Themsong. It is either "Cabin Fever" by Elwood Blues Revue, or the song Hip Hug-her by Booker T and the MGs (one of the songs on the soundtrack but I am leaning towards Cabin Fever), but I more think it is Cabin Fever, and I can't seem to download that one. The soundtrack is out of print. Good Luck.  :)

ok in the movie planes trains and automobiles, there is a song that plays when john candy asks steve martin, if he's ever gone by bus before, and steve says no, then the song starts it shows akid running up and down the aisle and steve watches a couple make out and gets caught.

OMG, your kidding me...why why why.....I have a friend who honestly thinks scooters version of "the logical song" is better than Supertramps....and when i played for him super tramps he thought it was a woman singing...(this friend by far, has the worst taste in music)..I then played "breakfast in America "for him, and focused on the line "Take a look at my girlfriend", to try and prove he's a male, but he still didnt believe me....idiot
