Subject: new parodies coming up... the sequel

Written By: Tone-Def on 08/08/02 at 06:58 p.m.

I figured the old new parodies thread was getting a bit long. Anyway... Since I'm going to Spain in a couple of weeks for my Junior Year Abroad i'm probably not going to have much time to write or submit much so I'll probably be submitting 3 a day of previously written songs and whatever i end up writing. I'm hoping they'll all be good be here are some I believe to be among my best that I'll be submitting: in the next post since this one is apparently too long

"Oops! I fell down again" is a parody of a well known britney spears song and its about airheaded clumsiness. Quite possibly the best I ever wrote.
" Burn Off the Fries" to Nelly Furtado's "Turn off the light" it's about wrestling and dieting
" What's my name again?" - pretty self explanatory
" I like greenbacks" parody of baby got back about greed
And I wrote a really good "Ice Ice baby" parody but it probably needs serious revision regarding pacing hopefully i can fix it and if i can't i'll just deal with my 2's in the pacing category

Two more ideas for me:

and
"Wash Ya Hands" to Will Smith's "Nod Ya Head".

well, hopefully in by Monday Ill have in "Mugger" to the tune of "Thiller", I just got to finish it.  I submitted "The Godfather part one" yesterday (to the tune of "American Pie") as part of Darkjons contest, but Chuck didnt update today, so its not up.  I have parodies to James Taylor's "Fire and Rain" and The Allman brothers "Rambling man" that are not complete, and Ive been trying to complete for some time, but Im stuck (I just need time to go over it again).  Ill try to get those in as soon as possible, but I think Rambling man might take a little while, cause I think I lost the paper I started it on...lol.  You might see another one out of my vault sometime soon.

I'm working hard to complete a few more sports parodies, and a few more light-hearted stabs at pop culture as well.  Hopefully, they'll be completed by Sunday (currently Fri. night).

I submitted three songs yesterday - 1 about wrestling (To turn off the lights by nelly furtado) which i know very little about 1 about cricket (to "smooth criminal") which i know less about and 1 about amnesia (to "what's my age again?") I believe these are the best songs i've written and have yet to submit and that don't need major reworking with regard to pacing. They might not be quite up to fridays crop but maybe they are. Anyway... these are the last songs i'm posting for a very long time unless i get a brilliant inspiration and write something by tuesday

I just submitted an original song, titled "I'm Gonna Shoot My Neighbor's Dog", a stirring ballad to the idiotic mutt who lives next door, and likes to relieve himself in our yard.  It's just meant for fun, so I don't want any animal people gettin on me about it; it's just a joke.

I've been working on some I plan to submit this winter.  I really wish I could submit them now, but it wouldn't make much sense since they are about Christmas, shoveling snow, etc.  So I'll save them for November and December.

I really don't know what to write now.. maybe since I don't have school today I'll have time to think of some stuff.  But I should be studying, anyway, so that probably won't happen.
