Subject: Covered/redone songs

Written By: Leo on 07/30/02 at 08:35 a.m.

Just a question: If you make a parody of a song which has been covered or redone by an artist (or more than one artist), and each version is significantly different from each other, and the parody is based on a particular version, who should get the credit as the original artist: the one who first made the song, or the artist upon whose version the parody is based?

I would say the one who first made up the song, but I think either's fine.
