Subject: I've finally hit 50!
No, not posts on the messageboard, but parodies up on amiright :-)
If you'll indulge me, I'd like to introduce you to some of my favourites in there:
I Will Survive (http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/gloriagaynor3.shtml )
The Film Star (http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/simonandgarfunkel1.shtml )
Puff the Tragic Drag Act (http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/peterpaulandmary0.shtml ), is a fair parody but tells a rather whimsical story
When Upgrading Windows
(http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/georgeformby0.shtml ) - to anyone who hasn't heard of George Formby, I strongly recommend the original "When I'm Cleaning Windows" as it's very funny, too.
...and as close to boasting in lyric as I can get:
http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/gilbertandsullivan0.shtml - I'm trying to learn to play & sing it at the moment, but it's b****y difficult
Last but not least, one old favourite of mine (and one of, if not the first song I posted at amiright) sings better than it reads, so I'm not too disappointed with the voting stats: it's probably my most requested song from people who've heard me play before: Thunderthighs (to the tune of Wonderwall): http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/oasis2.shtml
...and to anyone who has looked at and sang though all the above: don't you have anything better to do with your time?

Well done Phil!
I liked the G&S parody (I also like the Tom Lehrer version)
Funnily enough that song came up a few days ago on TV (Sung by Marcus in Babylon 5, Racing Mars)
Keep it up, let me know when you hit the ton! ;)

Thanks... I kind of got hooked on Tom Lehrer, and know all his songs from the first two albums (I have them both on vinyl AND CD), plus some of the others, and play & sing quite a few (The Irish Ballad was the first song I learned to play on the guitar - The Elements came soon after).

Gee, thanks...
Oh, and one more I nearly forgot, because it's at whatfreaks:
http://www.whatfreaks.com/90s/disneythelittlemermaid0.shtml
...which I've just realised is Beauty and the Beast rather than little mermaid, of course :-( - a cute little ditty which takes as its premise that the Beast's house is, in fact, a brothel...

Congratulations on 50 parodies!
