Subject: A Parody-only Lyrics Quiz

Written By: philbo_baggins on 05/21/02 at 11:46 a.m.

Another lyrics quiz - this one with a slight difference: all these lyrics come from parodies, so the answer needs not only which song and who wrote the lyrics, but what's the original and who wrote that.

...so I've only included five to see how the idea works out.

1 And on the way back I was sick over Jack
 And the rain came down

2 Well, I've never used a phone booth
And I've never seen my toes
When I'm goin' to the movies
 I take up seven rows
"Fat" by Weird Al Yankovic and it spoofs "Bad" by Michael Jackson. - answer by Crazydon

3 These are the only ones of which the news has come to Harvard
And there may be many others, but they haven't been discarvard
"The Elements" by Tom Lehrer to The Major-General's Song by Gilbert & Sullivan - answer by Olvan_The_Terrible (now there's a name to conjure with ;-))

4 Look at the flock, they're all in shock
 Here comes that mutton fan
Knock off the fleece, give them some peace
Don't be a barndoor man, no.

5 His belt fell from his waist
Bells jingled at a quickening pace

Hi Philbo

# 4 is "Dirty Deeds Done With Sheep" by 'Wierd Al' Yankovic

following on from Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap by AC/DC (the Bon Scott era)

It is Dirty Deeds Done With Sheep, a parody to AC/DC - but it's not Weird Al.

D'oh

You are of course correct - I didn't read the last two lines closely enough.

In that case, I have no freakin' idea !!!!!!

Some clues:

The parody artists missing are (in no particular order): John Valby, Bob Rivers and Jasper Carrott
