Have to get a blood test today-and I didn't even study for it. This is part of my annual from the V.A. Don't knew if I will be getting "jabs" or not. Next week I have an appointment with-I don't think it ia the doctor but probably the P.A. (Physician Assistant) via video. I don't even have to leave the house.
I really don't know how good the care I receive this way is but it is convenient.

Dad and I had a date night last night. We went out for a meal at an Indian restaurant and then to a pub for a drink afterwards. It was nice to have some time together, just the two of us.
Everyone was talking about the snow that had been forecast to fall overnight. There was talk of up to a foot or snow, however none has settled on the ground here, with just a dusting in the rooftops.

Finally got to be online, after my Christmas break with my family, and continued time with them, especially grandparent duties.
Belated Happy New Year everyone.
BTW, I have always believed in saying Happy New Year up till the Twelfth Night, which is today.
Also, I have a lot to catch up on...

Dai had an operation today to repair a double hernia. It was done as a day case at our local hospital. He is still a bit uncomfortable, even after taking strong painkillers
We have had a lot of rain recently, and our town has been in the national news because of floods in the area. We have been fine, but work colleagues have had to contend with closed roads on their commute.

I received a text from my boss this morning, indicating that the power has been out at our office since last night due to the strong winds, therefore we can’t go to work this morning. She did tell us that she plans to update us again by noon PST. (So, basically this is kind of a repeat of November 7th.)

Not really; the power is out at the office, so we can’t remote into our workstations. However, we do have things we can read (safety procedure information on paper).

I know where Colton is; it’s far from where I live. Maybe that area was affected by the winds as well.
Anyways, I just received another text from my boss. She said that the power is still not back at the office yet. And if it doesn’t come back on, then we may lose another day of work. :-\\

This morning when I opened my eyes it was 10:00. Yeah, it was late. Then I didn't even get out of bed for another 20 minutes. Before I knew it, it was 4:00 and didn't do anything. Now, it is 9:00 and I still didn't do anything. (Well l listened to The Washington Post and two eps of the podcast History that Doesn't Suck and played games on my tablet.) I totally wasted the entire day. Now I feel guilty because I didn't do anything.

And today is gonna be a third straight day without work at the office. :(
However, we are hopeful that the power will be restored and we can return on Monday.

I'm doing much better than yesterday. I Swiffered the stairs (got rid of a lot of cat hair), cleaned the tub and vacuumed the living room. That was before noon. Who knows what else I will accomplish this afternoon. It is better than sitting on my butt all day playing games.

Another wildfire broke out in Southern California today; it was in the Santa Clarita area (north of greater Los Angeles), but the winds were blowing the smoke of it for lotsa miles, towards my area, believe it or not. :o :o It wasn’t visible from where I work, but as I made my way towards home via Hwy 101, I started noticing it greatly. Yesterday, I ordered two new futon mattresses for my living room futons. Unfortunately, I couldn't get them in the color that I really wanted-which is what I have now. Why get new ones then? Well, there was a battle between 2 of my cats and the futon lost. I guess the color really won't matter much because they will be covered with a washable waterproof blanket to protect them in case there is another battle. I am going to keep the third one that is in the library.
